Bowser Castle tracks have a stone-paved road floating on a bed of lava. Most of the track has a stone barrier to keep you from falling into the lava, but there are places where you need to be careful as there is no barrier. The main part of the road has very good grip with quite wide corners but there are large gravel patches where grip is very poor. There is no chance to cut corners as all the corners are square and if you hit the inside barrier you'll come to an abrupt stop.
The main hazards on Bowser Castle courses are lava gaps and thwomps.
