Diddy Kong is a small little chimp from the Donkey Kong series. He and Donkey Kong act much like father and son in both the series and in the story mode for Super Smash Bros. Brawl. He is great at both ranged and melee attacks as he has multiple ranged options.

Strategies[edit]

There are a equal amount of ranged and melee strategies with Diddy Kong

Fruity Combo[edit]

A great way to trip opponents up is to use this combo: Start by using Diddy Kong banana peels, then hit them with a side smash, forward tilt, then forward throw them into the banana you tossed earlier and finish by fully charging the Peanut Popguns. If correctly done, the opponent, who will have been barraged by loads of fruit and tripped up by a banana, they should be unable to stop you from fully charging it as they will be unable to move, due to being in hitstun (if they haven't landed on the banana) or tripped up if they have landed on the banana and have been tripped)

Banana Peel[edit]

The banana peel is actually a great edge guarding tool. If you place it to where the opponent will hit it when they climb back onto the platform, they will be tripped up by the banana, leaving them open to being launched back off. This is recommended for Wolf as his side special may miss and cause him to fall off the platform. This can be used to stop him from doing that.

Close Combat[edit]

Yes, I got the name from a fighting type move in Pokemon. In this game however, it's when you start with a side special, then use a forward smash, neutral attack combo, then finish with a forward tilt and a side special. If your Final Smash is charged, you can also end with that, too.

Peanut Popgun[edit]

Despite the fact that there are very few characters who use side specials to recover because they do not have a up special for recovery, Peanut Popgun can be used to deal with characters who do have that as their recovery option. If you use it on an opponent who is dashing in mid-air, it will cause them to go into hitstun.
