(1) Mirror cave[edit]

D: Key, E: Poppy, F: Puppet

After stepping through the mirror in the northeast cave of your home world, you will arrive in a mirror-image of the previous room. In fact, you are in a mirror image of the entire dungeon, which exists in a mirror-image of your home world. Instead of a world of light, you are now inhabiting a world of demons. That being said, nothing much will change, except that the enemies will of course be stronger. But so are you, as you should be armed with Cecile's Sword and the Ceramic Shield.

Now that you are in the mirror image of the previous cave, three treasure chests can be found in the mirror image locations where the three previous chests were found. Follow the path right and up until you are given an opportunity to explore. Follow the middle path down, and back above the mirror to find a chest with a key in it. Then take the middle path to the right to find a chest with a Poppy. Return to the room above here, and examine the chest in the alcove for a Puppet. Then head north and follow the serpentine path to the staircase in the upper-right corner, and escape from the dungeon.

(2) North tower[edit]

A: 3rd Eye, B: Key

Welcome to the demon world. Wherever there once was green, you'll only find orange throughout the landscape. That being said, every cave, tower, and castle is now in the mirror image location from the light world. And you should explore them in the reverse order that you explored them in the light world, starting with the north tower. Head east and follow the north coast until you reach a tree. This tree will offer to rid you of Thorn status if you are ever poisoned. Then continue following the north coast until you reach the tower. Note that with the Harp, you can heal at any time, anywhere, so you won't need as much bread to survive. That being said, if you feel more comfortable stocking up on supplies, it might be a good idea to find your way to the fourth town and make some purchases before wandering back up to the north to continue.

You won't find anything amazing in this tower, but you will get the opportunity to face the fifth boss of the game an obtain the fifth of Dr. Doppler's treasures. As with the light world, start out by walking straight to the left to open the first chest, which contains a 3rd Eye. Then return to the previous screen and follow the path up and around until you reach a locked door. Open it, and head to the right to find a chest with a key, before returning to the left and climbing up the stairs.

C: Key, D: Gold

The second floor contains a cruel trick. There is a chest hidden behind a locked door, but the chest contains only a small amount of gold, worth less than the key you must use to access it. Skip the gold and only collect the free key by following the path down to the bottom of the floor. Then double back to the stairs where you arrived, and follow the middle path to the right to reach the stairs to the third floor.

E: Scythe, F: Golem

You must avoid the chest above the stairs at all costs, as it contains the life-stealing Scythe. Instead, walk around the room and proceed to the left to access the next room, where you'll find another chest that contains a Golem. Grab it, and heal up to prepare for the boss fight ahead. Quick Save the game, and then climb the stairs when you're ready.

Demon North Tower boss

The room may be the mirror image of what you're used to, with the door on the left instead of the right, but the strategy to defeat the boss remains the same. Stand to the boss' right so that you can attack him as you push him into the upper left corner.

(E) Fourth town[edit]

Shop Item Cost
Tea house Tea 21
Weapon Shop Long spear 6498
Ice sword 11300
Unicorn Horn 15098
Halberd 20700
Shield Shop Leather shield 10
Silver shield 1108
Steel shield 4908
Crystal shield 11600
Item Shop Bread 30
Poppy 37
3rd Eye 55
Key 230

You may be able to forgo finding the fourth town before you visit the North tower, but by the time you finish it, you may be in sore need of supplies and healing. To find the town, return to the tree and head south. Keep going south all the way until you reach a bridge. Cross the bridge and travel east. You'll pass yet another tree which mentions a Big Egg if you speak with it. Visiting this tree is actually important in order to trigger the appearance of the Big Egg when you search the West castle later on. Continue one more screen east, and you'll reach the fourth town.

By now, you should have amassed a pretty good amount of gold. There are two new weapons, and one new shield. Each of them are an improvement over the free shield and weapon you've picked up recently, but they certainly are expensive. If you can afford to skip the Unicorn Horn and go straight to the Halberd, you should. Purchase the Crystal shield if you can afford it. If you can't, you may want to grind for gold near town until you can.

(3) Mid tower[edit]

A: Key, B: Key

After you've rested in town, make your way back north to find the inland tower below a river bank. To get there, leave the town heading west, cross the bridge, and start heading north. When the path splits in two, follow the right path and it goes up and back to the east until you reach the tower.

It will be a bit of a fight to reach the top, but your primary goal here is to collect another heart to extend your health meter, and give you more of a fighting chance in this cursed land. From the entrance, start by following the outer path to the right, and then up, to collect one of two keys on the floor. The second can be found in the upper-left corner of the floor, but you have to unlock a door to reach it, so it's a wash. The stairs to the second floor are found in the upper-right corner of the floor, above where you found the first key.

C: Doll, D: Thorn, E: Key, F: Tulip

When you arrive on the second floor, you will see a chest locked behind a closed door. The chest contains a Doll, so if you already have one, or if you're not too reliant upon them, you may wish to consider whether its worth using a key to obtain. Head north from the stairs, but do not open the chest in the upper right corner, since it contains a thorn. Instead, travel up and around to the left to the next room. Here you will find a chest with a key in it. Collect it, and continue down to the room below. The chest in this room contains a Tulip, and below the chest is the flight of stairs that lead to the third floor.

G: Scythe, ♥: Heart

The top of the tower is small, only consisting of two rooms. Avoid the chest in the room where you arrive, as opening it will reveal a Scythe that kills you. Instead, proceed directly to the room on the right, where you'll find the chest that contains the Heart. After collecting it, your health meter should refill to a total of 120 hit points. Now make your way back down the tower and return to the outside.

(4) West castle[edit]

A: Key, B: Thorn, C: Empty, D: Rose, E: Key, F: Doll, G: Big Egg, H: Poppy

After collecting the Heart, return to the fourth town if you need to stock up on supplies, and then make your way to the West castle, mirroring the location of the East castle in the light world. Make sure you've spoken to the tree along the way if you haven't already. The item you are seeking won't appear in the castle unless you do.

You'll have to walk through an extensive area to obtain the key item that you've come here for: the Big Egg. From the entrance, walk around the wall and approach the room below. Then make your way back up into the small chamber to obtain a key from the closed chest. Come back down and walk to the right. Then follow the path to the room above, but don't open the chest, since it contains a thorn. You can explore the left path back to the room below, but all you'll find there is a closed chest with no contents.

Instead, head up to the room above. In the chest on the right, you'll find a rare Rose, which temporarily grants Sylviana invincibility. From here, you must decide whether it's worth it to explore the lower path that leads to the lower-right corner of the castle. You can obtain a key, and ultimate a Doll if you use the key to unlock a door. But even for just the key, it may be a considerable amount of effort.

Whether you take the path and come back, or decide to skip it altogether, you must unlock the door to the upper-left path of the castle. Follow it as it brings you back to the right, and then head up to explore the top room of the castle. In there, you will find the chest that contains the Big Egg. Once you grab it, you are ready to leave the castle and return to the outside. There is still one more chest to the right, which contains a Poppy if you want to collect it.

(5) South tower[edit]

A: Scythe, B: Golem

The South tower can be found by travelling due south from the fourth town. You'll need to visit it in order to face off against the sixth boss. There are very few treasure chests worth investigating here, as half of them are either trapped or empty.

From the entrance, ignore the center passage since the chest within contains a Scythe. Instead, just as in the light world, you must choose between a path to the stair that contains a locked door, or a path that is open. Assuming you would prefer to hold on to your keys, take the path to the right and follow it around to the bottom. Along the way, you'll find a closed chest in the far right side of the tower that contains a Golem. Then climb the staircase to the second floor.

C: Scythe, D: Key

If you navigate this floor carefully, you can minimize your key-loss. Walk up from the stairs, and then take the middle path to the room on the right. The lower path will only lead to a Scythe. From the middle path, walk all the way to the right, and then up the right side to the room above. Keep going all the way up to the closed chest to obtain a key. Then come back down and into the passage on the left, before walking down and around until it leads you to a locked door. Open the door to access the stairs to the third floor beyond.

E: Gold, F: Empty

This is another small floor, with two treasure chests. Both are safe to open, but the one that you can see when you arrive is empty. The other is locked behind a door, and it contains a small amount of gold, less than the cost of the key you have to use to obtain it, so it's best left alone. Instead, heal yourself, Quick Save your game, and climb the stairs to challenge the boss of the tower.

Demon South Tower boss

You should be familiar with the drill by now. Stand to the right of the boss, and gradually push it into the upper left corner of the room until it is defeated. After you obtain the sixth treasure, make your way back out of the tower. Return to the fourth town to heal up. From here, you will begin to make your way to the fifth town.
