Actually, I disagree with whoever posted the above instrunctions. I kept "gliding" my Red Baron, hoping to save on gas, but when I succeeded in shooting all 5 couriers and making it almost back to the base, I'd run out of gas and fail. I then discovered that your gas supply decreases even if you aren't pressing down on X--so in fact, the key to winning this mission is in fact not conservation but speed.

I recommend divebombing on every courier that comes your way (instead of landing, shooting, and then taking off again), and don't take your finger off of X between kills--this will cut your time to the coast. Obviously, try not to land or bump into anything at all if you can help it. The first time I tried completing the level this way it turned into a cakewalk. If you hear "You're almost out of fuel! Hurry up!" and you're not within 3 blocks or so of your base, start over.

That's all true. The reason for this is a glitch that Rockstar unsuspectedly left in the game. It was fixed when the PC and X-Box versions of San Andreas were about to be released. The gliding all works fine there, with no fuel problems. Ruff HoodRat 08:19, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
