Callout Template[edit]

Hi all, created a template at Template:Lineage_2/Callout for use here. <removed> Intention is to use this template for the contributors to place opinions in the articles. Things like quotes/ comments etc. can go into this so as to make the articles more er.. personal, I guess. An example is to the right.

The syntax of usage is as follows:

{{Lineage_2/Callout|width=(width in pixel)|align=(align)|quote=(quote)|author=(author)}}

For example, you can use this:

{{Lineage_2/Callout|width=200|align=center|quote=This is my callout!|author=~~~}}

and it would appear as: <removed>

Please make sure not to use any quotation marks in the template. The quote and author will automatically be set to italics. There are of course some wiki tricks to get rid of this, like so:

<removed>

But I'll leave it up to you guys to figure out the fun bits. :P

If you guys would like some changes, let me know, I try to change the template to suit. -- Lynx7725 10:12, 10 Jun 2005 (UTC)

If anyone actually wants this template, let me know and I'll make it. - najzereT 22:52, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

Purpose[edit]

You stated what purpose you wanted this site not to be, but what information do you want to focus on? Much could be done with a wiki site such as this, even adding quests and mob stats and so on; the things you've said you don't want to do. Of course I find your reasoning a little lacking as the information on other web sites is quickly becoming outdated with the additions of chronicles. I'd like to contribute, but I don't want the information I add to go to waste if the information is not inline with your vision.

Well, primarily I hope that this will be a repository for character guides, and interesting things to look out for in Aden. Quest guides, I think you have a point, but mob stats are likely to change from chronicles to chronicles, so I think it's fairly pointless to keep track of anything but the most basic stuff (e.g. Werewolves are around level 10 social mobs, non-aggro).
Frankly speaking, the stats system in the RPG is so much number crunching, it becomes very non-sensical after a certain point. :)
Feel free to contribute -- the worst that can happen, at least if I edit, is to put useful information (even if it is out-of-scope of this book) into a separate section by itself. It's hard to get people to contribute, so I won't disregard people's useful contributions by deleting them.
As for the purpose, let me rethink it a bit and reword it. :) Lynx7725 01:57, 26 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Updating Pages[edit]

I included on some of the pages how I think each page should be made, feel free to move that information into the discussions of that page and add your own thoughts. This is a community book, so I want to include everyone, but I thought some initial direction would help those that are a little skittish to start a new page.

Acknowledgeing non-wiki contributors[edit]

I don't know everything about everything so I've been looking around at various sites/guides/forums for credible information. Sometimes I'm copying statistics but now I'd really like to canabalize some character and quest guides to beef this place up. I just don't like the way the fansites are organizing and updating their content. I digress. Anyway, I've got someone with a quest guide on lineage2-online.com to agree to let me use his guide in the book. How/where do I give him credit? Its going to be edited by me and any other shlub that wants to, so whats the point? I'll get started. You all can pipe in.

BTW, I'm all over the new C3 coin quest. Get ready for a comprehensive guide that will make the fansites drool!

Status[edit]

Sorry folks, these few weeks I had a hard time at work; lots of changes. And I've sort of let my subscription lapse.. but I should be signing up again (glutton for punishment). :) Lynx7725 01:59, 30 May 2005 (UTC)

Misc[edit]

Hi! Your subpages should follow some naming convention which include the book title. Using subpages that would be "Booktitle/Chapterdescription". See Wikibooks:Naming conventions and the current discussion at Wikibooks:Hierarchy naming scheme. You can move pages with the "move" command on top of every page once you are logged in. --Andreas 09:30, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for the info! will do so accordingly.
EDIT: Done! :) Silly me, not too familiar with the Wiki UI yet. :) -- Lynx
Well done. (PS: You can sign your name with four tildes: ~~~~ for name and timestamp) --Andreas 12:39, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Thanks! Appreciated, was wondering how that was done. -- Lynx7725 13:54, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Note: I removed my IP from the contributors list. Now I only have my username! Cracker JaX 20:18, 10 May 2005 (UTC)

:) Sorry, this week is rather busy for me. I'll contribute more later. Lynx7725 02:09, 11 May 2005 (UTC)

I have replaced my IP with my name as well. Onomastic 19:00, 11 May 2005 (UTC)

Everquest wikibook[edit]

Hello you lineage fans :) Had a look around, and wanted to let you know, that I "stole" from your site. I simply copied the "appeal for contributions". will that get me banned? ;o) maybe we can learn from each other anyways, so many MMORPGs out there these days...--Kajolus 16:41, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
