Too Brief?[edit]

While this is an informative page, (for example the strategy on how to beat Parasite Queen is very good) it does seem a shame that it summerizes the Space Frigate. I think a long game like Metroid Prime needs a little more explanation The secondary mission of scanning things is also missed out (For example on the Space Frigate there are 3 one time only scans that are not mentioned). I have not just edited the main article as this is obviously someone else's project but perhaps it would be a good idea to ask yourself "What would make people want to read this more than all the others one the net?" If you can answer this positivly, then you are on the right track. --Yettie0711 (talk · contribs)

Added Content[edit]

I decided to delete any brief mention of scans in the original text and included a more detailed section called "Available Scans" I also added a heading called Boss Battle: The Parasite Queen. This should hopefully make it easier for anyone who just wants to find out how to defeat a boss. If anyone disagrees with what I have done I will be happy to hear their views. --Yettie0711 (talk · contribs)

Room-by-Room Walkthrough?[edit]

I like the way the walkthrough is organized by what item is needed next to go on. I think the problem with it being too brief could be solved by listing the rooms you travel through to get from point A to point B. For each room, you list the scans/items that can be had (only the stuff that's newly accessible, obviously). If there is nothing new to get in a room, just the name of the room would be enough. This would have the added advantage of listing the shortest route to places (which is always my problem in Metroid games). --Puretext (talk · contribs)

Ideally we would have a map of the rooms and then we would include details on everything notable (enemies, items, scans, etc.) only to the rooms that matter. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 20:15, 4 May 2007 (CDT)
3D rooms are very difficult to map out, and mapping the different areas (Phazon Mines, Chozo Ruins, etc.) gets even uglier. Also, I prefer walkthroughs to be somewhat repetitive just in case someone jumps in later in the walkthrough (where scans and stuff aren't listed) and doesn't know if he/she got all of the scans, etc. --Ryan SchmidtTalk - Contribs 20:20, 4 May 2007 (CDT)
A 2D rendering might not be that bad... I understand what you mean though. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 20:23, 4 May 2007 (CDT)
Ditto on the 3-D map. There already is one in the game. If you didn't know if you had all the items/scans, wouldn't you go to the indices, rather than the walkthrough, anyway? It might be useful to have an index that listed the rooms and the scans/items available in each--Puretext 20:59, 4 May 2007 (CDT)
On items and normal scans, yes, I do agree, maybe link to that index page. However, one-time-only scans should be made apparent in some way/shape/form on the actual guide page. Plus, some of those energy tanks are way the heck off the map, so they should be mentioned in the walkthrough. --Ryan SchmidtTalk - Contribs 21:06, 4 May 2007 (CDT)
