Controller images[edit]

Problem is, the controls are more "forward" than "right" - they change depending on what direction Ryo is facing on-screen. It wouldn't be an issue with plain arrow images (I might try to make some if I get time), but when there's a definite D-pad direction being given it might lead to some confusion. --aniki21 03:41, 23 January 2006 (PST)

  • I've made some flat grey directions (only right and left uploaded so far) for this, based on blendmaster's Gamecube ones. Let me know what you think... --aniki21 06:26, 23 January 2006 (PST)

Move directions[edit]

The reason I've replaced the {{dc|(direction)|Dpad}} templates with the generic direction buttons is because a move listed here as Generic Right.png+X button won't always need the "right" direction to be pressed on the D-pad - the Generic Right.png in this case means "forward", and using an image of a d-pad would give entirely the wrong impression. --aniki21 09:07, 15 November 2006 (CST)

Yea, I noticed that when I was changing the stuff. However, I think it should be somewhat understood, like in the Category:Move lists. Or you could say at the top something like, All moves assume the character is on the left. If the character is on the right, switch all directions from left to right and vice versa. (terrible sentences, but you get the idea). -- Prod (Talk) 21:13, 15 November 2006 (CST)
Well, one other reason I wanted to use generic directional arrows rather than deliberate DPad movements was because of the way it's laid out in Shenmue's in-game move scroll. --aniki21 05:18, 16 November 2006 (CST)
