wikibooks merging[edit]

are we going to merge the whole movelists thing, with all the strategies and stuff, onto this one page? cause that would be better for navigation, yet it would get pretty big. One thing we could do is have the movelists here like they are, with detailed ones from wikibooks on separate mini pages, along with damage info and strategies--blendmaster 21:12, 18 May 2006 (PDT)

Move Names?[edit]

Does any one know the offical names of the moves or if there are any? I can get the debug move numbers, but I'm wondering if there is a convention or just people make up the move names and the best ones stick?--Yahivin 18:58, 8 June 2006 (PDT)

Character Moveset Layouts[edit]

I think we need to have a consistent moveset layout for all the character's that gives the stats on all the moves. Here is my suggested style:

Each attack move should have the following data:

Button Combo
Move Name
Duration (in frames)
Hit Frames
Damage (Range of percents for smash attacks, unspammed strength for other attacks)
Range (Area that the hitbox reaches)
Knockback (Pitch velocity on hit against Mario, and angle at which the hit sends without DI)
Priority
IASA (Frame)
Hitbox Animation (.gif)
(Projectiles should have additional or slightly different information)
(Rolls and dodges also should have slightly different information)

All a characters moves should be listed as follows

Standing Ground:
A
A A (If character has one)
A A A (If character has one)
UTilt + A
FTilt + A
DTilt + A
USmash + A
FSmash + A
DSmash + A
Grab

Dashing Ground:
A
Grab

Throws:
UThrow
FThrow
BThrow
DThrow
A (Captive hit)

Aerials:
NAir
FAir
BAir
UAir
DAir

Specials:
B
Up + B
Forward + B
Down + B

Defensive:
Air Dodge
Ground Dodge
Roll

Info. on Characters[edit]

Is the background summary on the characters and the games they appear in necessary? That is a lot of information for one page. What are people going to use this information for while playing the game? The moves and strategies for each character should be what is really important on this page.--Wittj 15:44, 29 December 2006 (CST)

I am personally very much in favor of the background information. While I agree that the primary focus of the page is the moves and the strategies that pertain to each character, providing the extra info is a nice way to present each character to those readers who may be less familiar with the origins of particular fighters. It certainly doesn't detract from the value of the page. Procyon 19:06, 29 December 2006 (CST)

I would suggest moving the info to the infobox, that way it's out of the way of the main content, but there if the player is interested. -- Prod (Talk) 19:28, 29 December 2006 (CST)

Page Size[edit]

This page is getting rather large... Maybe we should split it into subpage for each character? There's enough material that we can cover moves, advantages, and strategies on seperate pages.--DukeRuckleyTalk | Contribs 09:29, 20 September 2007 (CDT)

Well I'm dense! The pages are already on separate subpages, the new information just needs to be moved. I'll take care of it later. Ignore me for now :)--DukeRuckleyTalk | Contribs 09:32, 20 September 2007 (CDT)

Character rank.[edit]

I've seen that there are some parts and maybe all parts besides the info table on the characters which is totally unbalanced with none of them identical to each other. Especially the link on the characters. What about the overall score to make it more easier too see which one is the overall best to the overall worst. It's already done with brawl so why not bring it over to this game and the original game. There's no downside to this except if you don't have a guide, you'll have a hard time working out the pros and cons for each of the characters. Johnnyauau2000 01:20, 23 June 2008 (CDT)

Ok so what do you suggest we do? Specifically. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 03:10, 25 June 2008 (CDT)
