Getting Viewtiful Joe Stuff Up[edit]

So I worked on and uploaded some images, made the character page, fixed a few other things. Apparently DrBob cleaned up what I cleaned up. That's cool. ;) So I sort of tested working on the walkthrough. I also made a quick map. I wanted to see how well I could make a map. I don't really know if Viewtiful Joe is a game that needs maps, but if it's worth doing it's worth overdoing, right? I don't think I'm going to write the walkthrough. I'm going to see if I can get some of the ol' V-Joe fans over here to help work on the guide. I also might try to get in contact with someone that already finished a walkthrough and see if we can put it on here. I just thought I'd let you know, random person reading Talk:Viewtiful Joe. --KapKyle 17:24, 10 August 2007 (CDT)

Bringing new users in is great, and if you can get someone to re-license a pre-existing walkthrough to the GFDL (the license StrategyWiki's under), that would be great too. :-) --DrBob (Talk) 17:27, 10 August 2007 (CDT)
I still need to pick up a cheap copy of this game... To Ebay! --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 00:03, 11 August 2007 (CDT)
I posted a message on the forum where I knew some V-Joe junkies, but it looks like its been inactive for about a year and a half. I'm sure they'll get my message eventually, but I wouldn't expect them to help fill out the v-joe guide any time soon. :P And I shot off some emails to some makers of guides on gamefaqs. Until we get some more stuff to fill in, I'll keep working on images and little things. I'm kicking myself. Around the time the game came out Capcom released a .zip with all kinds of game art, but I've long since lost/deleted it. So I'm searching google for official art and only getting blurry jpegs/the same stuff. I guess I'll just have to keep looking. --KapKyle 11:53, 11 August 2007 (CDT)

Screenshots question[edit]

Hey random person to look at Talk:Viewtiful Joe, in my recent searching about this game I've stumbled upon a lot of screenshots. I know we aren't allowed to use images unless they are public domain-ey. What about some of the screenshots on official websites, like http://www.capcom-europe.com/gamesheet.aspx?game=VJ1? Am I allowed to upload those screenshots onto here? --KapKyle 17:52, 12 August 2007 (CDT)

You're more likely to get an answer if you ask non-guide-specific questions somewhere like the staff lounge. ;-) To answer your question, they're acceptable, but it's always better if you can take screenshots yourself. Just make sure you categorise them (in Category:Screenshots) when you upload them, and it's best to avoid images with watermarks. --DrBob (Talk) 18:08, 12 August 2007 (CDT)
Yeah, I wasn't in a rush to get my question answered. And why bother, you seem to be everywhere! :D See, the problem is it's kind of more difficult to get your own screenshots for newer games like this. You really can't just fire up an emulator and take some snapshots. My computer can barely run Frogger 2, there's no way I could possibly emulate a ps2/gc game. Heck, I don't even have a digital camera to take blurry pictures of me playing the game. (There's even a story behind that... ah, I'll spare you the details. :P) Long story short, if I had a way to take my own screenshots, I would. :] School starts for me tomorrow, but sometime these next few days I'll look for higher better quality, un-watermarked versions of these screenshots, and I'll wait to upload them until a walkthrough gets up. --KapKyle 22:59, 12 August 2007 (CDT)
If you have water marked screenshots you'd like me to fix up just send me links to them. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 23:25, 12 August 2007 (CDT)
