Joe Asakura aka Joe the Condor (known in Japan as Kondoru no Joe) is the rebellious second in command of the Science Ninja Team, a team of young superheores who fights against Galactor, a technologically advanced terrorist organization. Joe's main motivation is to get revenge on Galactor for killing his parents and ridding the world of evil. Rescued and raised by Dr. Nambu Joe's impulsive and hot-headed spirit contrasts with that of the calm and collected nature of leader, Ken. In his civilian life, Joe is a stock car racer, whose car has puncture proof tires and can drive on improbable surfaces, when transformed. Joe's trademark weapons are the Air Gun, which shows Joe's expert marksmanship and his sharp tipped Feather Shurikens. Like Ken, Joe gets plenty of attention from women, even some from Galactor.
