Examples

Double Border

valign

Any chance of a vertical alignment parameter? It's a pet peeve of mine when cells on the same row don't line up. --aniki21 04:18, 2 March 2008 (CST)

cellspacing

Who killed sortable?!

Oh, no! What happened to our beautiful javascript? sortable=1 has been disabled? Why? I assume this occurred during the migration to the new simplified theme and also during a staff meeting. Staff meetings largely fell off due to several factors including: lack of interest, difficulty with scheduling, but mostly improved direct communication between interested members. I would be happy to resuscitate them if there was enough expressed interest. Procyon 02:33, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

Sortable works in Vector and Monobook but not in Dolphin or BlueCloud. Probably because the first two are on Wikipedia where we got the sortable code. — Najzere · Talk 03:16, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

Pretty sure it's somewhere lost in MediaWiki:Common.js (or maybe not). Once they added ResourceLoader it made skin specific js much harder to include. The custom skins load the js/css differently than the built-in skins, so it could be an artifact of that. -- Prod (Talk) 04:34, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

Hmmm. I just switched to Monobook. Now that Bluecloud is gone I don't care about skins at all. Let's just force Monobook and remove the rest so there is never any issue, aside from browser rendering, regarding aesthetics/layout. --Notmyhandle (talk • contribs) 02:58, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

Dolphin is the default skin that sets us apart from other wikis, so that should be compatible first and foremost. Having a choice of skins is a good thing, we just need to make sure they all work. Monobook is old even on Wikipedia (Vector is default there). Not that I'm for it, but I think if we were to force a single skin on people it should be Dolphin. — Najzere · Talk 05:42, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

Everything gets replaced eventually. Next time, maybe the skin can just be updated with different styles instead moving to a new skin, but either way I think we'd always want to have something to give us our own identity, and that one should be the default. — Najzere · Talk 00:21, 4 May 2012 (UTC)

I checked Dolphin with Chrome and IE9; no dice on Chrono Trigger/Items and equipment. Works on Monobook. Dolphin seems to render the space in the table for the sortable icon, but it doesn't display an image. I don't follow. There's an options section? I know of preferences, but I don't see a blacklist area, or any mention of "scripts." Are you referring to some sort of global javascript page? Also, when I tried to install the ajaxpatrol.js, was there something I needed to do besides put it in User:Notmyhandle/ajaxpatrol.js? --Notmyhandle (talk • contribs) 01:13, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

Nevermind about the abxy script, looks like it was just a jQuery conflict. As for the patrol script, I moved your BlueCloud.js over to common.js and added the code for you. You can delete User:Notmyhandle/ajaxpatrol.js if you want, as it's not necessary to keep separate instances of the code. Likewise you might want to move your bluecloud.css over to the common or skin version of your css if any of it still applies. Cheers, — Najzere · Talk 14:53, 8 May 2012 (UTC)

Automatic Sortable?

I'd like to know if it's possible for the table to automatically sort by A-Z ascending for a specific column when loading the page.

I just learned about the parameter "style" and I tried to implement it, to no avail.

• style=align:right would be nice in tables of experience points & levels;
• style=vertical-align:middle would save loads of space here: Ultima_VII_Part_Two:_Serpent_Isle/Spells_and_Reagents.

The style parameters are for the whole table, not for the individual cells. For the first case, you're looking for text-align:right. For the second, it needs to be done individually per cell. -- Prod (talk) 21:19, 21 February 2021 (UTC)
