Tennis was one of the first sports titles made available for the Game Boy, developed and published by Nintendo in 1989. It was a launch title in North America. Tennis allows players to choose the difficulty of the AI opponent or play a 2-player match via a link cable. Nintendo mascot, Mario, also makes a cameo as the game's umpire. The game was released on the 3DS Virtual Console in June 2011 and was one of the earliest Game Boy releases on the service.
