As in the previous chapter, the default player character in Theatrical Cut is Conrad. Fliss is the player character if Conrad escaped or died on the boat in Intrusion. In the Curator's Cut or when acting as the second player in Shared Story, the player character is Julia. Regardless of the character being played, all of the same items can be examined, with only a few different choices and interactions between the characters.

Along the left wall, turn over the letter on the table to find Secret #28.

Unlocked Conrad's Humorous Trait

If playing as Fliss, use Square button to light the lantern. If playing as Conrad, his Humorous Trait can be unlocked by choosing to be confident in the ensuing conversation. When discussing the ship, choose to be curious in order to work toward maxing his relationship with Fliss (if it hasn't been maxed already). The player character(s) can then explore. Examine the picture on the wall near the door for a hint at the ship's name ("SS"). On the table to the left (which Julia will be sitting on if she isn't being played), a letter can be picked up and turned over for Secret #28: Private Miller's Letter.

On the right side of the table in the center of the room, turn over the newspaper for Secret #44.

Unlocked Julia's Spoilt Trait

On the right side of the table in the center of the room, pick up the newspaper and turn it over for Secret #44: 1947 Newspaper. Some of the other characters can be interacted with and some other items can be examined, but to move on, examine the cabinet at the back-right corner of the room. Push it aside to reveal a vent. After waiting around a bit for Alex, examine the vent for a choice. The safer choices for Conrad or Fliss are to distract their captors and then block their escape; choosing to hide instead requires an extra "keep calm" sequence, which can result in Fliss' capture if failed. As for Julia, she can unlock her Spoilt Trait here by choosing to be resentful toward Alex.

Regardless of whether or not Fliss is captured, the next chapter will continue from the perspective of the escapees.
