  • Run/Stop, CBM, L and : In the C64 version, you will have to use these keys to make Fred walk up, down, left and right; however, in the ZX and CPC versions, you will have to use a joystick instead (it is usually the other way around). You can also pause the C64 version by pressing F1.

Frederick J. Flintstone[edit]

TFYDD Fred Flintstone.png

The protagonist of the game, whose middle initial was also given as "F." and "W." in two episodes of the show, is depicted as yellow in the ZX and CPC versions of the game due to technical limitations; the player must help him build his house (201 Cobblestone Lane) and win over his wife Wilma, thus paving the way for Bedrock as viewers first saw it in 1960, implying that this game is set before then. The screen he will start on is the site of where his house is to be built (and features several rocks to get him started) - and spherical rocks are easy to build with, while jagged ones are not. Putting the roof on top of the house shall also mean paying a visit to "Dino-Hire" but Fred can only go there when he has earned enough money by working at the quarry to hire a dinosaur (a dollar sign shall appear on the screen, to indicate that he has done it); he shall also have to earn enough money to buy a car to drive around in and find more rocks. The more Fred runs, the more his energy shall decrease, but whenever he sees Wilma, it will be replenished - and whenever he puts a rock in a right place on the site, a bit of the house shall appear (but it will only be finished when the chimney is put on the roof). Once Fred has finished building and if he has had enough successful encounters with Wilma she will be won over.
