The episode begins with Ryunosuke and Susato having arrived in London, awaiting the arrival of the Lord Chief Justice in his office at the British Supreme Court. Once he finally arrives, he introduces himself as Mael Stronghart and welcomes the two students to "the capital of the world." You can then speak to him about the following topics:
- London: Susato expresses her fascination for the liveliness of the city, and Stronghart mentions that the city will be hosting the Great Exhibition, where technological and cultural achievements from around the world will be on display.
- Law student: Stronghart reveals that he was already aware of the death of Kazuma Asogi thanks to a telegraph. This should mean an end to the study tour, but Susato encourages Ryunosuke to plead his case.
- Continuing the study tour: Ryunosuke proposes that a lawyer from Japan can take the place of Kazuma, but Stronghart doesn't believe there is anyone who can replace him.
When given the option to name a replacement for Kazuma, select it's me! Ryunosuke will proceed to argue for a chance to prove himself as a lawyer in order to carry out Kazuma's plans, and Stronghart appears to have a change of heart. If you choose any of the other options, Ryunosuke will soon change his mind and name himself as a replacement after all. A new conversation topic then appears.
- Test: Stronghart tells Ryunosuke that his test will consist of him defending someone in a murder trial occurring later today. If Ryunosuke is able to secure a not guilty verdict, Stronghart will agree to name him a lawyer, and if he fails, the defendant will be sentenced to death.
When given the choice to decide whether or not to go forward with the challenge, no matter what you choose (I'll do it, I won't do it), Stronghart will say that Ryunosuke's hesitation was a sign of not enough resolve and will say the test is over, but when Ryunosuke and Susato prepare to leave, Stronghart will reveal that the defendant will be going in alone if he does not accept. Move to The Old Bailey to proceed with the trial.
