Characters[edit | edit source]
Defense Attorney[edit | edit source]

Ryunosuke Naruhodo
A rookie lawyer who earned his title after succeeding in his first trial in Britain. A day later, he takes on his second case, appointed to him by the Lord Chief Justice of London.
Defendant[edit | edit source]

Soseki Natsume
A Japanese student sent by his government to study English in Britain. He was seen walking near the victim when she was stabbed, and promptly fled the scene. No one else was seen walking down the pavement near the victim at the time, even by his own admission, making him the sole suspect.
Victim[edit | edit source]

Olive Green
A young woman who was stabbed in the back while walking down the street. She is currently recovering in a hospital, though she remains unconscious, so not much else is known about her.
Prosecution Lawyer[edit | edit source]

Barok van Zieks
The prosecutor in this case, returning to challenge Ryunosuke once again. His title as the Reaper of the Bailey makes other lawyers fear him. It is unknown why he decided to take this case.
Witnesses[edit | edit source]

Roly Beate
A Scotland Yard beat cop, sometimes referred to as a "bobby." He witnessed the crime when he was off-duty, on the way to an anniversary dinner with his wife. He seems to be perpetually tired due to his demanding occupation.

Patricia Beate
The newlywed wife of Roly Beate. She witnessed the crime while walking down the street with her husband on the day of their anniversary.
Other Characters[edit | edit source]

Susato Mikotoba
Ryunosuke's assistant. She assisted him in his first successful trial in Britain, and continues to support him even in the midst of seemingly impossible trials.

Mael Stronghart
The Lord Chief Justice of London. He allowed Ryunosuke to become a lawyer after his successful first trial, and sends him to his second in order to give him some more experience with British law.

Tobias Gregson
A Scotland Yard detective who has been appointed to this case. He seems to have a bitter hatred for Herlock Sholmes.

Herlock Sholmes
The self-proclaimed great detective who assisted Scotland Yard in this case. He previously assisted Ryunosuke and Susato in solving the murder case on the SS Burya.

Iris Wilson
A ten year old girl who lives with and acts as the assistant to Herlock Sholmes, who she affectionately refers to as "Hurley." Just like Sholmes, it appears she has a knack for deductions.

John Garrideb
A retired army veteran who acts as a landlord to the defendant.

Joan
The maid of John Garrideb. She also acts as a juror in this case.
