Following the initial release of the game on 3DS, weekly DLC was released in the style of a magazine (called Randst Magazine, which features Herlock Sholmes stories in-game). These weekly DLC releases each contain bonus content such as 3DS themes, previously cut music and voice clips, and concept art featuring commentary. They also each contain an Escapade, a short side story that takes place during the course of the main game. DLC packs for the 3DS version of the game were released for ¥300 each.
In the Chronicles release of the game, extra content is included in the base game and can be accessed via the Special Contents option in the main menu. If all Escapades are completed, the player is awarded with an accolade as well as an achievement/trophy in the Steam/PS4 releases. The Escapades should be completed after the main game in order to avoid spoilers, but their titles and basic premises are as follows:
- In the Defendants' Antechamber: Following Episode 1: The Adventure of the Great Departure, Ryunosuke loses something important, much to Kazuma's disappointment.
- In a First-Class Cabin: Preceding Episode 2: The Adventure of the Unbreakable Speckled Band, Kazuma has a run-in with Herlock Sholmes.
- At the British Supreme Court: Following Episode 4: The Adventure of the Clouded Kokoro, Ryunosuke, Susato, Stronghart, and Gregson discuss taxes.
- In Sholmes's Suite: Following Episode 4: The Adventure of the Clouded Kokoro, Ryunosuke, Susato, Sholmes, and Iris discuss one of Sholmes' most notorious tricks.
- At Naruhodo's Legal Consultancy: Following Episode 4: The Adventure of the Clouded Kokoro, Ryunosuke, Susato, and Iris discuss the clutter that has overtaken Naruhodo's Legal Consultancy.
- In Mr Natsume's Room: Following Episode 4: The Adventure of the Clouded Kokoro, Ryunosuke, Susato, Sholmes, and Iris discuss a number of topics with Soseki Natsume before his departure.
- On Briar Road: Following Episode 5: The Adventure of the Unspeakable Story, Ryunosuke, Sholmes, and Iris run into an incident involving Roly, Patricia, and Gina on Briar Road.
- In the Bailey: Following Episode 5: The Adventure of the Unspeakable Story, Ryunosuke faces off against Van Zieks in a murder trial where Sholmes is the primary suspect.
