This is not what you think. Link woke up with no memory at all since his sleeping stasis which is left for 100 years ago. The high tech Hyrule is now a medieval apocalypse and you have to be prepared to deal with Calamity Ganon which is magically sealed in the Hyrule Castle by Zelda.

Although you have the freedom to go anywhere, here are the things to look out for:

  • Mini dungeons containing items you need to progress.
  • Survive with many weapons and armor as you can as they all won't last long against enemies that has similar equipment.
  • Cooking will become a benefactor for your hearts and upgrading stamina.
  • Traverse forests, mountains and villages in order to recover your lost memories.
  • Use Sheikah Slade to check on maps and many items along your journey.

Of course, the DLC of this game will come around this year in terms of useful items, difficulty and so on. Be prepared to survive on this journey like no other Zelda game before it.

You have limited space to store melee weapons, bows, and shields, but you can hold any amount of ingredients and food.

Cooking[edit]

Hold ingredients from the pause menu, then drop them in a cooking pot over a fire. Some ingredients can be combined with just about anything. Others have special effects that cancel each other out if you put them in the same dish.
