The Isle of Gust[edit]

Making Way to the Temple of Wind[edit]

Now this place is called the Isle of Gust for a reason. Be careful of strong winds that may push you off the edge. Head up the stairs and go right, watching out for wind gusts that will push you to the left. Kill the Miniblins along the way and head down the stairs at the right. Go south, kill the ChuChu, and go up the stairs. Between wind gusts, jump over the gap to the right. Kill the two ChuChus that appear and jump to the right. Kill the Miniblins and jump right. Kill the ChuChu and jump right. Head right and up, eliminating ChuChus along the way. Go down the stairs, kill the Miniblins, and grab a bomb from the flower right after the wind dies down. Throw it at the crack in the wall. Go in the hole.

Open the chest for a Courage Gem. Read the journal if you wish, and look at the chart. The two Xs on the map are actually the secret islands I led you to before, and the arrow points to Bannan Island. If you've been following this walkthrough this room is pointless aside from the gem, but if you haven't, mark these positions on your sea chart and visit them later.

Exit back outside and go up the stairs next to the sign. Now when the wind start blowing, run and jump across the gap to the left. The wind should push you across the large gap. Do the same for the next gap. Go down the stairs and kill the Miniblins in the windless clearing. Dig up the odd spots on the floor to get 60 rupees. Enter the cave and run right to the stairs, killing two Miniblins along the way. Go up the stairs, jump into the clearing, and kill all the Miniblins to reveal a chest. Open this one and the one below it for a treasure map and a Wisdom Gem.

Exit the cave to the southeast and go east, killing the ChuChus. Ride the wind vents up to the top, and use the wind gusts to jump to the left. Kill the Miniblins and head all the way down the stairs. Go north. Read the tablet and the plaque, marking the X on the plaque on your map. Head south and go to the southwest corner of the area. Ride the wind vent. Go north and circle around to the other exit in the south. Jump down to find a field full of open and covered wind vents. Kill the Miniblins and make your way to the western end of the area. Dig up the vent and open the chest on the ledge to get a Power Gem. Jump off and dig up the northernmost vent near the wall. Ride it up, kill the two ChuChus, and go north.

Unlocking the Temple of Wind[edit]

Dig up the covered vent and ride it up. Go down the stairs. Cover up the next vent you find and pass by it. Go up the next vent. Dig up the odd spot on the ground to get 100 rupees. Now we're near the X marked previously on the map. Ride a vent up to the plateau. Read the tablet and plaque. Now you have to blow the three sacred windmills to proceed. Look at the plaque and mark the three sacred windmills on your map. Jump down, cover up the vents, clear the rocks, and move on. Hit the gossip stones to learn about the Sand Worms in the area. These worms will pick up on your movements and zoom towards you. You can avoid them by running to high ground or a paved path. Until you can reach one, you must walk very slowly. Do this by holding the stylus close to Link.

Slowly head right to the plateau. Hit the gossip stone to learn that Sand Worms can be lured with bombs. So toss a couple of bombs off the ledge and watch the Sand Worms explode after eating them. There are only a finite number of Sand Worms, so killing them off renders a specific area of the field safe. Sand Worms will also preferentially go for bombs, so if you're being chased, find a bomb and chuck it away from you. Since bomb flowers are liberally scattered all over the field, you can use them to scout for the presence of Sand Worms.

Keeping these hints in mind, make your way to the three sacred windmills. While standing in front of them, blow into the microphone to set them spinning. You may have to blow pretty hard to get them to spin. Also, make your way to the southeast corner of the field to find a chest with a treasure map. Once all three sacred windmills are spinning, two doors will open, allowing you to jump down to the temple entrance. Enter the temple!

The Temple of Wind[edit]

Floor 1[edit]

Time your dashes through the wind gusts so you make it all the way north. A tone sounds, and you see a bomb flower. Grab the bomb flower and toss it at the center tile between the two rows of bomb flowers. This will set off a chain reaction that simultaneously activates both switches. This extends a set of bridges over the gap. Cross to the north. Kill the ChuChus and push the block to the right until it blocks the wind vent. Run around it and hit the switch to disable the wind vents around you. Head right up the stairs. Go south across the bridge and down the stairs. Head left, killing the ChuChus, and open the door to the south. Hit the switch to open a door to your left.

Go right up the stairs. Continue right, past the vents, killing two Keese along the way. Jump the gaps to the right and go down the stairs. Go north to a room where four Ropes spawn. Kill them and head left. Grab the rupees and head left. Push the block to the left. Head north and west, to a lone wind vent. Push it along the path on the ground to either of the two starred tiles on the ground. Use the wind vent to jump across the gap to the left. Hit the switch and go down the stairs.

Floor B1[edit]

Head south to a room with a bunch of rocks. As suprising as it looks, , Throwing bomb flowers at the rocks reveals them to be Rock ChuChus, the minibosses of the dungeon, Red ChuChus wearing rock helmets. Throw more bombs at them to destroy the helmets, then dispose of them as you please. Head right, up the stairs, kill the ChuChus, and go down the stairs to the right. Head to the center of this large area to find a tablet next to a switch. The tablet tells you to make the two windmills above spin. Press the switch to reveal some stairs to the south. Go up the stairs and jump down into the vents to reach a chest with a Courage Gem in it. Jump off the ledge and return to the point where you jumped off into the vents.

Jump off to the right instead, going all the way right to a chest with a piece of treasure in it. Return to the jumping off point, and jump down to the left of the vent. Push the block to cover the third vent from the bottom, so the block is next to a tan block. Ride either of the vents below the block to end up on it. Jump off to the right and head down the stairs.

Floor B2[edit]

Use a bomb to destroy the cracked wall. Be careful on this floor, there are sand worms. The rocky pathway cutting across the floor is safe, though. Use the bomb flowers to kill off the sand worms nearby. Make your way to the center platform. Read the tablet and the plaque, marking the Xs shown on your map. There are many closed vents in this room, but you must only open the four marked with Xs. On the left side of the room, there's a chest with a Power Gem. Dig up all four marked vents. You'll know if you uncovered the correct ones if a cutscene shows a torch lighting. Enter the north of the two doors that open. Use a bomb flower to destroy the blocks. Go up the stairs.

Floor B1[edit]

Head south and push the wind statue onto the starred tile so the windmill starts spinning. Go back down the stairs.

Floor B2[edit]

Now enter the southern of the two doors that opened. Go up the stairs.

Floor B1[edit]

Kill the ChuChu and head up the stairs. Go across the bridge and pull the wind statue to the starred tile. A key should drop down. Collect it. Go to the stairs in the south, jump down into the vents, jump off to the right, and go down the stairs again.

Floor B2[edit]

Head north to the locked door and open it. Open the big chest for the bombs. To prepare a bomb for use, tap the item icon or hold a shoulder button. Tap somewhere to throw the bomb in that direction. Head to a cracked wall in the northwest and open it with a bomb. Throw a bomb in the wind vent to blast a block away. Break the pots to the left for more bombs. Head upstairs.

Floor B1[edit]

Drop a bomb in the wind vent and run to the eastern end of the corridor. Go through the door before it closes. The tablet warns you that "Blank faces can hide truth as well as blemished ones." Kill the nearby rock helmet ChuChus with bombs, then drop a bomb at the odd checkered floor tile. It will blow a hole in the wall. Follow the corridor to a door. Open it and go up the stairs.

Floor 1[edit]

Kill the two rock helmet ChuChus. Now, look at the ground on the other side of the wall. One of the floor tiles there is the same odd checkered pattern. Lay down a bomb on your side of the wall, across from the checkered tile. Go through the hole and up the stairs. Lay down two bombs, one on each of the two starred tiles, to open the door. Break the pots for more bombs. Open the chest for the Boss Key. Jump off to the left and drop the Boss Key for now. Throw a bomb into the wind vents to the north. Once the blocks are destroyed, pick up the Boss Key and jump into the wind vent. Go through the door once the Boss Door is opened. Go forward and ride the wind vents up. Read the tablet to create a portal back to the entrance and break the pots for bombs and health. Go up the stairs and face the boss.

Cyclok, Stirrer of Winds[edit]

The arena features three cyclones and some bomb flowers scattered around the arena, with Cyclok floating around on the top screen. One of the cyclones will be active at any given time. Watch Cyclok's shadow. When it passes over the active cyclone, throw a bomb into the cyclone. This will stun Cyclok and the cyclone around him will dissipate, sending him to the ground. Attack him with your sword or bombs until he recovers. Rinse and repeat for the victory. Most of Cyclok's attacks are very easy to dodge, simply move out of the way. His attacks consist of a charging tackle and throwing mini-cyclones around, both of which are fairly slow attacks. His mini-cyclones can also be used to launch bombs. Try using the bomb flowers whenever possible to conserve bombs.

Aftermath[edit]

Once defeated, Cyclok will dissolve into some Sand of Time. The fairy of Wisdom, Neri, will be released. Pick up the Heart Container and return to the temple entrance with the blue portal.

Isle of Gust[edit]

Head south and up the stairs to the right. Jump down and head to the southwest corner of the field. Go up the stairs, jump down them, and go down the southwest stairs to make it back to Linebeck's ship. Leave the island. Now that you have bombs, you can buy a bomb bag upgrade from Beedle for 1000 rupees.
