Floor 41[edit]

Kai no Bouken map 41.png

Time: 59, Treasure: Sleep, Gift

Ishtar's preamble: Don't look into the eyes of the Basilisk.

Ishtar is warning you about the stationary creature on the left side of the floor. He normally sits with his eyes shut, but every now and then he begins to open them. When they are completely open, the screen will flash. While the screen is flashing, you should not face Ki in the Basilisk's direction (assuming you are in front of it, you are safe to look at the Basilisk from behind.)

To complicate matters, there are slimes and bats strewn throughout the floor. You can make dealing with them a lot simpler by heading to the left from the entrance to collect the Sleep spell from the chest on the bottom. You'll have to hop over a green slime to reach it, but it's worth the effort. Then you can return to the right, and hop up to the next ledge without having to worry about the other slime or the bats. If you're not sure when the Basilisk will open its eyes, just wait until the screen stops flashing. You don't have to face right, you just can't face left. When the screen stops flashing, hop up to collect the key, and then jump over the gap to the exit. Detour over the exit if you wish to collect the 10,000 bonus point gift in the second treasure chest.

Floor 42[edit]

Kai no Bouken map 42.png

Time: 34, Treasure: Gift, Gift

To begin, there are two gifts on either side of the entrance. Combined, they are worth 20,000 points, but you don't have a lot of time to complete this floor, so if you're going to collect them both, you must be quick. Hold down B button while you jump over the jagged floor in order to ensure that you reach the chests safely. Above the entrance, two blue wizards pop in and out of visibility to fire spells across the screen. You should begin jumping just moments before they are about to cast another pair of spells so that you have ample time to rise up to the next level. It does not matter which direction you go, this floor is symmetrical. Above the wizards, you will face a blue ghost on either side that you leap up to. Stay below the ghosts, land on the edge of the platform and jump over the jagged floor to reach the exit door. The key is waiting just above the door, below a jagged ceiling.

Floor 43[edit]

Kai no Bouken map 43.png

Time: 86, Treasure: Poison

This is the floor of slimes, as it is occupied by every variety of slime that you can face on this quest. You must be especially wary of the red slimes which fire spells upward, and the blue slimes which fire spells horizontally. If that's not enough, there are also a few acid drips to contend with as well. Not only is the treasure on this floor rather difficult to collect, it's Poison and should be ignored entirely.

Focus on finding a safe route to the key. From the entrance, wait for the red slime on the left to cast a spell, and then leap over it to the wall on the left. Then when it's safe, jump up to the ledge above where the acid is dripping from. Carefully leap over the green and red slimes on that platform, and then jump up to collect the key from the platform above. Then launch yourself over to the exit door on the right.

Floor 44[edit]

Kai no Bouken map 44.png

Time: 67, Treasure: Warp

The appearance of a new enemy, the eagle should not startle you greatly. They are a taller variation of the stationary owl, who also occupy this floor. First things first, if you wish to collect the treasure chest from the top, you will find a warp which leads to floor 51. In order to collect it, you will have to safely rise above two orange wizards, and float above them to collect the chest.

If you wish to complete this stage normally, you will have to have good control over Ki's jumping. The space between the eagle's heads and the platforms above do not leave a lot of room for error. In general, you should release A button when Ki's feet are approximately level with the middle of each eagle. That should give you enough momentum to clear the eagles without bumping your head on the platforms. Bumping your head here will assuredly kill you, since you will likely land on the eagle, or the jagged floors between the columns. Once you reach the owls, the floor is substantially easier. Collect the key from the column on the far right, and then head back over and up to the exit above.

Quox's warp: There are places that you will not be able to pass through unless you intentionally bump your head.

Floor 45[edit]

Kai no Bouken map 45.png

Time: 68, Treasure: Timer

Three quarters of the way through the tower, and another new enemy appears. The small quails may look harmless, but their high speed makes them surprisingly challenging to deal with. One quail runs back and forth along the bottom. In addition to the quail, there is a Giant Leech hanging from the ceiling directly below the entrance, so you shouldn't attempt to leap over the quail. Instead, wait for it to run to the left wall, and drop down so that you can quickly run behind it as it heads to the right. Once you clear the platform above your head, jump up so that the quail can bounce back to the left again.

Beyond the leech, you'll need to rise up and slip past a blue ghost. Try to begin rising just before the ghost hits the left side. Be careful when landing on the next ledge, you don't want to hit the quail. Once again, try to time it so that you are running along behind it, jumping just in time to avoid it when it rebounds against the wall. The next platform may be skipped unless you wish to collect the Timer from the treasure chest. The chest is guarded by the combination of a fast moving quail and a slow moving slug. By now the slug should be approaching the left side, so you should be able to rise up and leap over the slug and the quail at once. Run to the right to collect the timer, and then prepare to jump out of the quails way while you make your escape. Finally, jump up to the highest platform, collect the key to the right of the exit, and head to the next stage.

Floor 46[edit]

Time: 35, Treasure: Special Flag

After the challenges you've faced, this level should be fairly simple. Jump up to the platform above, taking care to avoid the small rolling Rock Man who patrols it, and staying low enough to avoid the bats. Hop over to the left side of the platform and watch the two fire cannons below. After they both fire shots, drop down to collect the Special Flag from the chest, which grants you one extra life. Then rise back up to the highest platform. Avoid the raven flying back and forth at the very top, grab the key, and exit the floor.

Floor 47[edit]

Kai no Bouken map 47.png

Time: 62, Treasure: Silence, empty

There are a number of opponents on this floor which shoot spells or fireballs at you. It's not required, but you can significantly reduce the threat by collecting the Silence spell from the chest on the far right before anything else. This spell prevents any spells or fireballs from appearing through the remainder of your time on the floor. Run to the right, but watch out for a red slime that occupies the floor below the lower chest. Jump up when it's safe and collect the silence spell.

Then return to the left and jump up to the ledge containing the key. The key is protected by a blue ghost who floats up and down as well as left and right. Time your approach to avoid the ghost. Then jump up to the platform above. The Silence spell will render the fire cannon useless. You may have noticed a second treasure chest on the right. It is guarded by two ghosts. Even though the Silence spell makes collecting this chest easier, it's not worth the effort as the chest is empty. Instead, focus on jumping up to the exit and escaping.

Floor 48[edit]

Kai no Bouken map 48.png

Time: 77, Treasure: Wing, Gift

Ishtar's preamble: Be careful when flying.

Ishtar's warning may seem so simple as to be obvious, but her warning applies perhaps more to this floor than any other. You will be flying through the entire stage, and the low ceilings above jagged floors leaves very little room for error. Start out by jumping up and collecting the Wing from the chest just above the entrance. Then jump over the column to the left of the entrance and float just above the jagged floor. Glide Ki over the floor to the left and back up along the column to the platform above. Stop on the ledge, and then carefully lift Ki off the ground, without hitting the ceiling above. Float over to the right and land on the platform directly between the two urchins sliding up and down the columns on either side. Fly straight up the middle and collect the key on your way up, then land on the ledge to the left. Ignoring the next ledge with the urchin below you, float just above the next jagged floor. Once again, you must be extremely careful to glide through this hallway without touching either the ceiling or the floor. If you make it, float up to the top. Collect the 10,000 bonus point gift from the chest as an extra reward, and then carefully float over one last jagged floor to reach the exit.

Floor 49[edit]

Kai no Bouken map 49.png

Time: 150, Treasure: Wing, Poison

This rather long level appears far more complicated than it actually is. The reason is the treasure chests. While one contains the Wing, the other contains Poison. In truth, both chests should be avoided because the only purpose of the Wing is to help you reach the Poison. If you have no desire to collect the Poison, the Wing won't really be of much help to you at all.

Instead, focus on the middle path. Along the left wall is a blue fire cannon. The blue variety of cannon fires twice as quickly as the orange, so it will keep you on your toes. Watch the timing of the cannon, and when you think you're ready, jump up to the ledge. From the start to the end, you're going to remain caught between two fireballs travelling to the right. You need to move no slower or faster than they do. As you move down the hallway, you must leap over patches of jagged floor which appear at regular intervals. Once you reach the far right side, you'll be able to collect the key, and jump up to the safety of the platform above, which contains the exit.

Floor 50[edit]

Kai no Bouken map 50.png

Time: 180, Treasure: Orb, Cross

This floor may test your patience. The key is guarded by a Vampire, and the cross that removes the Vampire is guarded by an Ogre. To start, jump up to the platform above the entrance where a quail is running quickly back and forth. Get to the left side, and jump up to the platform above, occupied by a snail. Carefully jump over the snail, and make sure you don't bump your head on the ceiling and stun Ki by flying too fast into the column beyond. If you lose control of Ki as you fall, you will land on a jagged floor. Push to the right as you fall, and you should land in a small alcove with a chest that contains the orb.

With the Ogre gone, you can go after the cross now. Jump back up and over the snail, watch out for the quail below, and return to the entrance. Then drop down to the floor on the right, and walk to the far right side. Jump up to the platform above, and then to the next one containing a slug. Wait for the bee above you to hit the right column and return to the left before rising. When you reach the platform above the bee, you must be especially cautious of the quail running back and forth. Try to float over to the far left side, and then jump up again as quickly as you can to the next treasure chest which contains the cross.

Once again, you must safely return to the entrance. The Vampire is now gone, so you can drop down to the floor left of the entrance and safely collect the key. Then jump back up to the entrance platform, and rise all the way up the middle until you see a slug moving back and forth along the platform just below the exit. Carefully navigate around the slug, and head through the exit door.
