Once all three Ghostbusters (and Slimer, for the one who beamed up either Green Ghost ghost!), have reappeared on the screen, six Type 13 enemies will appear (three on either side of the screen), and start hovering towards you; once you have fired enough shots at each of them to kill them, they shall leave six ghosts behind (but if you don't kill them quickly enough, they will hatch into three miniaturized Type 10 enemies, which can increase your ghost count by a maximum of eighteen). Once you've beamed them all up, you will have to fire a shot at a garbage can, to destroy it - and once you have done so, it'll leave a Beam Energy Up powerup behind. Once you've collected it, you shall have to walk to the left and up as you come to two Type 9 enemies who are firing shots in eight directions at you; once you have fired enough shots at both of them to make them recede back into their tree stumps and kill them, they'll leave two more ghosts behind. Once you have beamed both of these up, you will have to continue walking up over one of ten angry-looking spikes (while they have receded into the ground) as eight Type 19 enemies emerge from three holes in the ground, then start jumping towards you - and once you have fired a shot at each of them to kill them for 1000 points apiece they will leave eight more ghosts behind. Once you have beamed them all up three Type 1 enemies shall come flying up towards you from the bottom of the screen while sticking their tongues out at you; once you've fired a shot at each of them, to kill them, they'll leave three more ghosts behind. Once you've beamed them all up, you'll have to walk to the right and down over one of eight more angry-looking spikes (again, while it has receded into the ground) and collect a Green Ghost powerup. Once you've done so, Slimer shall reappear and start circling around your Ghostbuster once again (but if he didn't die after beaming up either Green Ghost ghost it won't have any effect).

You'll then have to walk back up over the first of the eight angry-looking spikes (once again, while it has receded into the ground) and over thirteen more angry-looking spikes (yet again, while they've receded into the ground) as you come to two more Type 9 enemies who are firing shots in eight directions at you; once you have fired enough shots at both of them to make them recede back into their tree stumps and kill them they will leave two more ghosts behind. Once you've beamed both of them up you will have to continue walking up as four Type 15 enemies emerge from two more holes in the ground and start walking towards you while throwing axes at you - and once you have fired a shot at each of these to kill them, they will leave four more ghosts behind. Once you've beamed them all up you will have to continue walking up (while five indestructible Type 12 enemies have receded into the ground) as five Type 17 enemies come flying down towards you from the top of the screen; once you have fired enough shots at each of these to kill them (they will again change colour from red to peach when close to defeat), they will leave five more ghosts behind (one of which has a Shot Power Up powerup inside). Once you've beamed them all up, you shall have to continue walking up over twelve more angry-looking spikes (for a fifth time, while they have receded into the ground) as you come to four Type 6 enemies who are walking back and forth while firing lightning bolts in eight directions at you - and once you've fired enough shots at each of them to kill them, they will leave four more ghosts behind. Once you have beamed them all up, you will have to continue walking up, as a fifth Type 15 enemy and a ninth Type 19 enemy emerge from two more holes in the ground and start walking and jumping towards you (while throwing axes at you, in the case of the former). Once you've fired a shot at both of them, to kill them, they'll leave two more ghosts behind; once you beam both of them up you have to fire a shot at a gate to destroy it (but if you stand directly in front of it, your shots will pass over it).

You will then have to continue walking up as seven more Type 13 enemies come hovering down towards you from the top of the screen; once you have fired enough shots at each of them to kill them, they will leave eight more ghosts behind (but if you do not kill them quickly enough, they will again hatch into three miniaturized Type 10 enemies, which shall increase your ghost count by a maximum of twenty-four). Once you have beamed them all up, you have to continue walking up, as three more Type 17 enemies fly down toward you from the top of the screen - and once you have fired enough shots at each of them to kill them, they shall leave three more ghosts behind. Once you have beamed them all up, you will have to continue walking up over one of twenty last angry-looking spikes (for a sixth and final time, while they've receded into the ground) as four Type 20 enemies appear and come walking down towards you from the top of the screen while firing shots in five directions at you from their scythes (the game's "boss" theme shall also start to be heard from the Yamaha YM-2203 and YM-3812); once you have fired off enough shots at each of them to kill them for 2000 points apiece (they will not leave ghosts behind) you will have to walk back down and fire a shot at another garbage can to destroy it. Once you have done so, it will leave another Beam Energy Up powerup behind - and once you have collected it, you shall have to walk to the right as four more Type 20 enemies appear and start walking down towards you from the top of the screen while firing shots in five directions at you from their scythes. Once you have fired enough shots at each of these to kill them, a key will appear in front of the double doors; once you have collected it, the double doors will open up. Once all three of the Ghostbusters have walked through the double doors, the text "STAGE CLEARED!!" will appear on the screen for a fifth time - and the "Ghost Storage" theme will then start to get heard from the Yamaha YM-2203 & YM-3812 for a fifth time, as all three of the Ghostbusters walk up to it and deposit their beamed-up ghosts into it. Once they do so they will proceed to the sixth stage (where the Type 20 enemies return as regular, ghost-leaving enemies).
