Drivel specifics: Remove first person

In this house, you are living with the person you married in the last level. Your mom will show up and tell you that she got Malcolm to give you yet another house and that she apologizes for the clutter. I recommend placing all the furniture around the house before you do anything else in this level. The house comes with lots of nice furniture, but it's all crammed into two rooms.

Goals[edit]

  1. Get promoted to career level eight: This is the same idea as getting promoted before. Be sure to try and complete this step first.
  2. Get promoted to career level nine: Again, same idea. Get this done as soon as you can.
  3. Upgrade your abode: To do this, buy all new wallpaper and flooring and get a few more lamps and such to complete the house.
  4. Have two kids: This is where it gets difficult. In my experience, you don't have much control over when you have these kids. Other guides I've seen have said that "if you're lucky" a kid will appear after you play in the vibrating bed, but I have never played in bed and not had a kid appear.
  5. Raise your first baby to childhood: The baby will mature to childhood in 3-5 days. I have included a specific section below as to how best to raise the child and fulfill all of your needs.
  6. Raise your second baby to childhood: Again, there is a section below on how to best do this.
  7. Keep the kids in school: As long as you send them to school every day or almost every day, you should be fine. Each day they stay home takes away a letter grade. Their grades must be above a D- or else they will be sent to military school and never seen again.

Tips on raising your babies to childhood[edit]

IMPORTANT: The baby must be tended to every single time it cries or child services will come take it away. This requires at least one of the parents at the baby's beck and call. I will refer to that parent as "the caring parent" for this guide.

  • Buy a Spartan Special bed and put it in the baby's room for the caring parent to sleep in. This will allow the caring parent to sleep and still be able to tend to the baby quickly, since the crying baby will wake up the caring parent if they're in the same room.
  • Also buy the following items to put in the baby's room to ensure that the caring parent rarely has to leave the room in order to tend to the baby: Monochrome TV, some sort of chair (buy two: one for the TV and one for the desk), SpaceMiser shower, Llamark refrigerator, trash can, some sort of desk, the microwave, a floor lamp, and a toilet. This is enough to fulfill the caring parent's needs without them having to leave the room. Put the microwave on the desk and put the chair at the desk's free space so that the caring parent can eat a quick meal if need be.
  • I like to put the Sims on a rotating schedule for who will be the caring parent. Whichever Sim is the caring parent will come home from work and go directly to the baby's room. They will stay there until the other Sim comes home from work the next day. This ensures that the baby is properly cared for and that neither Sim loses their job. This is not great for their social meters but as it's only for a few days, it will be fine unless you have a very outgoing Sim.
  • The second kid is slightly easier because you can also let the first kid care for it. However, I don't recommend letting the kid stay home from school to care for the baby.

Other things about this house[edit]

  • Like in Hot to Trot, your spouse will most likely be unemployed. You can get them a job if you feel you need to.
  • There's a room that's essentially two rooms put together with some sections of walls missing. I like to close off that wall and make the smaller room into my second kid's room.
