If you see the opening sequence before you go into the game, you will see that your car breaks down in a small town, named Strangetown. Jebediah S. Jerky is going to fix up your car for you, but says that first you should go and reserve a room at the hotel as it might take quite a while.
Reserve a Room[edit]
The Hotel is the only building on the right side of the street. There is also a big sign outside the door with a picture of a bed on it. When you go inside, the clerk greets you, and tells you that you have a letter.
The letter is addressed to you, and says that you must become manager of the hotel. Therefore, you reserve the Manager's Suite.
Honest Jackson, the mayor, comes into the hotel lobby. He is very angry, and so you need to calm him down. As this is your first try in the game at one of these social interactions, only one of the icons will flash, so you know what to press. When you have calmed him down, he says that you would make a good manager.
