The sword is the only weapon that Lucia starts the game with. It's not a magical item, so it does not consume and magic points. Although up to four swords can be found, you cannot utilize the power of more than three. Many enemies can be frozen in place by rapidly striking with the sword. However, when Lucia is swinging her sword, she cannot walk. The Sword will be your primary weapon throughout the game.

The Flame Sword fires a blast of fire with every swing. It can also be used to attack enemies like a regular sword, and just as rapidly. Although it's not the strongest magic weapon in the game, its low MP cost makes it a very valuable weapon. The offensive strength of the weapon varies slightly depending on its use. The sword blade is stronger than the flames it fires by twice as much. At its highest level of power, the blade itself may be capable of 400 points of damage.

The Magic Bomb travels a short distance and explodes vertically up and down. The bomb detonates when it hits an enemy, a wall, or when the B button is released. It is very effective at attacking enemies that are directly above or below Lucia. Although the offensive power of the individual flames are weak, many are released with each explosion. It is important to try to time the explosion of the bomb so that the most flames hit the enemy. Lucia will not be able to power the bomb up until late in the game.

The Bound Ball is a magical sphere which will reflect off objects as it travels. If nothing gets in its way, it will travel off the screen. It will travel a rather long distance compared to other weapons. It can be used to attack enemies from a safe distance, as well as those who are above Lucia. It is difficult to use against short enemies that remain on the ground. Firing multiple Bound Balls has the effect of reducing the number of fireballs that can be thrown by the enemy. It can also be used as a simple barrier. The more Bound Balls you collect, the bigger the ball becomes (it is the only weapon whose appearance will change as it gets stronger.)
Wing of Madoola Shield Ball.png Shield Ball 150 7

(Longer rotation at each level)
The Shield Ball generates a barrier of small spheres around Lucia. Its offensive power is rather weak, so it should not be relied upon as a primary attack weapon. It should mainly be used as a barrier to fend off the attacks of multiple minor enemies. Since few enemies will be destroyed by it, and since it has such a high magical cost, its usefulness as a barrier is limited. It is probably best save for when you need to find the exit after a boss has been defeated, or when you are being swarmed by Nyurus.
Wing of Madoola Smasher.png Smasher 100 11

500(?)
800(?)
1000(?)
The Smasher summons a group of flames and concentrates the attack on one enemy. It is unaffected by obstacles or barriers. When more than one enemy is present, the enemy chosen for the attack appears to be random. Sending out more than one Smasher may or may not attack the same creature. Although it appears to spread over a particular area, only one enemy can ever be affected by it. There is a bit of time that occurs between initiating the attack and when it strikes. So it is best used a safe distance away from a single enemy. The rate at which the flames gather increases with each level. Its strength is the highest of all magic weapons. It can be a difficult but effective weapon to use.
Wing of Madoola Flash.png Flash 500 9

240(?)
480(?)
720(?)
When using Flash, Lucia's body emits a holy light, and damage is given to every enemy present on the screen. It is very easy to use, but it consumes a tremendous amount of MP. Its offensive power is quite high, although not as high as the Smasher's. Since it can typically remove minor enemies with one use, it can be very helpful if you find yourself surrounded. You can even use it to attack enemies that scroll onto the screen throughout its short duration. However, using it too frequently can deplete your MP rather quickly. Enemies who are destroyed by Flash have a tendency to drop medicine bottles together.

Regular items[edit]

Item Name Stages found Description
Wing of Madoola Boots.png Boots 1, 2, 4 Boots increase Lucia's speed and jumping ability. Lucia needs to collect every boot available in order to clear the game.
Wing of Madoola Jar.png Jar 5, 6, 11 (×2), 14, 15, 16 The Jar increases Lucia's maximum hit points by 500. There are seven Jars all together, and Lucia's max HP can reach 4500 if they are collected (you begin the game with 1000). The maximum that Lucia can attain is 5000, and this must be done with potions.
Wing of Madoola Apple.png Apple 2, 3, 7, 8, 12, 13 An Apple will restore up to 500 of Lucia's lost hit points. If you collect it, it will not return if you die, or even if you continue, so consider collecting it carefully.
Wing of Madoola Magic Book.png Magic Book 5, 6, 11, 12, 15, 16 The Magic Book increases Lucia's maximum magic points by 500. There are six Magic Books all together, and Lucia's max MP can reach 4000 id they are collected. It is important to find them since MP becomes very important in the last stage. If you're concerned that you missed one, if you destroy large amounts of Nyuru, it is likely that they will drop a yellow potion which can also increase MP.
Wing of Madoola Scroll.png Scroll 2, 4, 7, 10, 13, 14 A Scroll will restore up to 500 of Lucia's lost magic points. Like the Apples, they will never return once they are collected, although restoring magic is a little less important throughout the game than restoring health.
Wing of Madoola Potions.png Potions every stage When enemies are defeated, there is a small possibility that a potion will appear.
Red Restores 100 HP
Violet Increases Max HP by 100
Blue Restores 100 MP
Orange Increases Max MP by 100

Violet and Orange potions are critical to reaching the maximum point values of 5000 for health and magic respectively. The other two, red and blue, are only helpful in the moment. If two potions are overlapping, and you collect them both, you will only receive the benefit of one of them.

Wing of Madoola Ball.gif Ball every stage The Ball serves as the key to the goal door of each stage. Unless you collect it, this final door will not open. The Ball is always located in a room inside of each boss' chamber. If the boss is not defeated, you will be unable to enter this room. When you collect the Ball, you will also gain a bonus of 500 restored hit points.
Wing of Madoola Wing.png Wing of Madoola 16 This is the magical item with the power to change the world, which was stolen away by Darutos. When Lucia collects it, it will give her the power to fly. She can rise through the air by holding Down dpad+A button. However, every time this action is performed, 1000 magic points are used. During flight, Lucia is defenseless, and if she takes damage, she will fall. At 1000 MP per use, you cannot afford to get hit and waste its use. When the Wing is collected, it restores 500 MP to Lucia, which can be used to provide the extra MP obtained by the Magic Book. The music will change as soon as the Wing is collected, and all enemies besides Darutos will disappear. Its use is required after Darutos is defeated, so you will need to save 1000 MP for after the battle.
Wing of Madoola Spring of Strength.png Spring of Strength 4, 6, 9, 10, 13, 15, 16 Although it's not a collectable item, it is a precious bonus. If Lucia bathes in the Spring of Strength, she will quickly recover lost health, and she will recover to maximum strength. She does not regain all of the lost health instantly; she gains 500 HP per fraction of a second spent in the spring. Finding these springs may be vital to Lucia's survival throughout the game.
Wing of Madoola Chick.png Chick 8 This mysterious baby chick only appears on stage 8. If you touch the chick, a certain password will be presented. This password was required for obtaining some kind of gift from SunSoft. The baby chick can be hit with your sword, but then the password will not be provided. The chick and the password have nothing to do with the completion of the game.
