This page only covers the controls for the two most advanced ports of the game: MS-DOS and NES.

MS-DOS controls[edit]

Move the character, move the cursor on the menu
space Switch between character control and menu cursor;
WARNING: the game doesn't pause while controlling the cursor on the action bar
F1 Talk to another character.
F2 Examine an item in the menu or in the surroundings.
F3 See list of items in menu (including number of gold coins and of meals).
F4 Get an item laying on the ground.
Essential to quickly collect loot during a battle (especially blue refreshing potions)!
F5 Drop an item from the menu.
F6 Give an item to another character.
F7 Use an item from the menu
Essential to quickly use an item during a battle (especially blue refreshing potions)!
F8 See score.
F9 Toggle "gliding" movement on/off
F10 Pauses the game
Ctrl + E Exit from the game and return to MS-DOS.

Save and load[edit]

The game is saved automatically whenever the character lodges in an inn.

A saved game can be loaded from the title screen or from the "You are dead" screen. During the game, you can reload the game by selecting the computer icon (no F shortcut) and then selecting the "load game" command.

Password system[edit]

Instead of save states, the NES uses a password system.

Whenever the character lodges at an inn, a password is shown. The password can be entered from the menu screen to resume the game.
