The noblesmen[edit]

The members of the nobility of Albareth are listed here sorted by their authority.

  • Valwyn, the High King: he disappeared twenty years earlier; since then, the steward Dariel governs Albareth in his stead.
  • Dariel, steward of the kingdom: currently the highest authority in Albareth.
  • The warden of the northern march: he was the keeper of the Foretelling Stones in Rhyder; he never appears in the game, therefore it's safe to assume that he was killed when the Foretelling Stones were stolen by the orcs.
  • Heidric, warden of the southern march: after the death of the Northern Marcher, he's the second highest authority in Albareth; he lives in Ganestor, far to the south-east.
  • The duke of Hampton: the lord of a smaller town.
  • The prince of Ganestor: the son of Heidric.
  • Lord Dunbar: a noblesman in Ganestor.

The clergy[edit]

  • Irial the Archmage: the most powerful mage in Albareth; he lives as a hermit now.
  • The Prior: he gives the hero his/her first quest.
  • Friar Kaine: a humble friar in Rhyder; he sells holy water, especially effective against some undead.

The peasants[edit]

  • Barton: a very resourceful serf who lives in Ganestor.
  • Baebon: a thug from Lankwell.
  • The Black Asp: a former assassin.
