: When in first person view, use the control pad to select various commands, or point to various objects of interest in the view window. When in birds-eye-view, use the control pad to direct the movement of your team throughout the Aztec ruins.

You have the opportunity to name the boy at the beginning of the game. If you don't enter a name, one will be chosen at random. The boy is one of the two lead characters in the game. He is the friend of the girl, and he is a fairly accomplished fighter.
Like the boy, you have the chance to name the girl before the game begins, or you can accept whatever name is provided at random. The girl is the daughter of the missing professor, and she wishes to find out what happened to him. While she's not handy in a fight, she is quite a talented musician.
Jose was exploring with the professor as a guide, and the last person who saw him. He returns to the professor's office to assist you in your rescue mission. He is quite strong and capable of some actions that the boy and girl are not.
Select the Go command to move in a particular direction. You can go left or right, forward or backward, or in some instance, upstairs or downstairs.
In order to examine particular items in a room up close, you must choose the look command and select the item in question. You may also examine items in your inventory by pressing .
Take
Put
If you see an item that you would like to add to your inventory, select the take command and point to the item you would like to take. Not every item may be taken.
If you have an item in your inventory that you would like to place somewhere in the scene, choose the put command, select the item you would like to put, and then select the location where you would like to put it.
Use
Move
If there is an item in your inventory that you would like make use of, select the use command, and then select the item you would like to use.
Some objects in a scene may be moved around. In order to adjust them, select the move command, and then select the item in the scene that you would like to move.
Push
Pull
Sometimes it is necessary to push objects over or aside. In order to do this, you must select the push command, and then the item you would like to push. Bare in mind that not every character is strong enough to push certain items.
Rather than pushing, sometimes it is more effective to pull an object in order to move it. Select the pull command, and then the item you would like to pull.
Smash
Join
While breaking ancient archaeological items is usually frowned upon, doing so may be the only way to rescue the professor. If you wish to try to break an item, select the break command, and then the item you would like to break.
Rather than breaking items, some items are meant to be joined together. In order to join items, they must be in your inventory. Select the join command, and then the two items in your inventory that you would like to join.
Wash
Wait
When you find certain items, they may be in such a dirty state that they are not effective. To improve them, you must wash them with the wash command. But in order to do this, you must be near a body of water.
If you have nothing to do, and would like for a little time to pass, simply select the wait command in order to fast forward for a brief period.
Switch
Fight
From time to time, you will need to call upon the help or expertise of a different member of your team. Use the switch command to rotate between the boy, the girl, or Jose.
When you encounter a deadly creature, you must use the fight command to overcome them. Understand that you must be strong enough in order to defeat various opponents. If you are having trouble overcoming a foe, you may not be in the right area at the right time, and you should escape.
