Your journey begins at the Midwest Skate Park where you are performing and Tony Hawk comes up and greets you. He offers you a space on his tour bus to Hollywood, it's an offer you can't refuse! When you arrive in Hollywood you'll also meet Mindy, a local skate chic. She'll give you a map of Hollywood and leave you collect 15 marks scattered all around the city. You have 5 minutes to do this.
It's a pretty easy first task and requires no skill. Start by heading left and you'll see a yellow arrow straight away. Carry on in a circle round the city, looking out for those yellow arrows indicating where a mark is. The marks are also shown as a yellow dot on your map on the touch screen. Try to remember the main locations in Hollywood, as it'll prove useful in later tasks if you know the area well. Once you've collected the 15 marks, head back to where Mindy is. She'll give you $250 once you've completed this task.
Now you are free to visit everybody in the city. Skate up to them and press A to talk. They should give you tasks to do, thus earning you money. Carry on doing tasks and earning money, most of the tasks on this level are easy.
If you carry on completing tasks a video will come up with Tony an Mindy. Mindy has drawn pictures of you performing tricks. They talk of a skate park called "American Sk8land" in Hollywood. You visit the park and Tony and Mindy come up with a plan to renovate the park. You then get to buy a piece for the park with the money you've earned. There are a possible three pieces to choose, each costing a different price. Once you've chosen which one you want, touch it, then press the cash icon to buy it and then the hand icon to go back to Hollywood. Once your back in Hollywood you should carry on earning money and performing tricks.
When you've done nearly all the tasks the first pro skater will show up. Mindy will point you in the direction of Paul Rodriguez and you should go and find him. He'll help you out on the skate park by giving you $1000, but only if you complete a task for him. By completing the task you'll move straight onto Beverley Hills although you might want to complete the four remaining tasks you have left in Hollywood for the extra cash.
Tasks[edit]
All tasks reward you with $250 unless noted.
- Mindy: Collect two magazines by ollie-ing.
- Waiter: Perform four flip tricks.
- Waiter: Perform four grab tricks.
- Punk Guy: Combo three tricks. Remember to manual in between tricks.
- Punk Guy: Do three flatland tricks. Remember to keep an eye on the balance meter when manualing.
- Skate Punk: Manual through the building making sure you don't stop whilst in the building.
- Skate Punk: Grind the corner rail.
- Sandwich Board Man: Wallplant the four no skating signs dotted around Hollywood.
- Sandwich Board Man: Purposely fall off your board and perform a freak out.
- Skater: Spine transfer the pool above the building in the corner.
- Skater: Wallride a nearby wall. Remember to skate into the wall at an angle for that second task.
- Movie Star: You might of noticed a police car traveling round Hollywood in the same route. Skitch the car.
- Movie Star: Find the four X markers around the town and graffiti them with your own tag.
- Photographer: Perform a revert.
- Photographer: Natas spin four fire hydrants. These are dotted around Hollywood and are bright red so they're easy to find.
- Paul Rodriguez: Perform a touch special for $1000. If you do a trick for along time three boxes should appear on your touch screen. By pressing one this'll automatically make you perform a special trick. I suggest just manualing for along time but you might want to perform a lip on one of the ramps.
