- Opals - Opals are found all over Southern Rivers and in the Dreamtime. They can be found from defeated enemies and in crates. Are the currency in Australia. They do no count towards your game percentage.
- Opal Bags - Opal Bags contain a substantial amount of opals, ranging from ten to the high thousdands. Opal Bags tend to be hidden from sight and placed in out of the way places as a reward for exploring the world or completing certain missions. Do not count towards game percentage.
- Crates - Crates are found everywhere throughout Southern Rivers. Ty can break open crates with his rangs or bite attack. Usually contain opals, but occasionally conceal picture frames.
- Invisi-Crates - Invisi-Crates are well hidden and very difficult to see with the naked eye. However, equipping an Ultra Bunyip Stone allows Ty to see them as well as normal crates. More likely to contain picture frames the normal Crates.
- Steel Crates - Extremely durable, the only thing able to break them are boomerangs equipped with Earth Stones.
- Gooboo Steve - On the run from the Quinkan, he can be found hiding throughout SouthernRivers. If you heed his words of wisdom, he might lend you some opals and a Bunyip Stone. He has six seret hiding spots and count toward your game completion percentage.
- Gooboo Berries - Steve has hidden his Gooboo berries all over Southern Rivers, in tricky to reach places. There are ten in total, and each berry counts towards your game completion percentage.
- Bilbies - If Ty rescues these Biblbies he is rewarded with opals and completion of the Game Completion Percentage. There are forty in all.
- Picture Frames - Each Picture Frame you collect will unlock a drawing in the concept Art gallery available through the Extras Menu. Picture frames are generally found in Invisi-Crates, buy may be found in normal crates or unseen without the Ultra Bunyip stone. Counts toward your Game Completion percentage, and there are 120 in all.
- Kromium Orbs - Kromium Orbs are metallic rings that can be found in hard to reach places or at the end of crafty puzzles. They will give you an opal bonus reward, and count towards your game completion percentage. There are 30 in all.
- Picnic Baskets - Picnic Baskets contain Health Paws, which restore one piece of Ty's health, or a full health head, which restores Ty's health to the max. They do not count toward Game Completion Percentage.
