Game features[edit]
Compared to the previous Ultima title, several game features disappeared:
- The character cannot anymore sell surplus weapons, armors and items.
- There are no ranged weapons.
- The character cannot get drunk in pubs.
- There are less enemy types (17 instead of 41, less than half).
- Dungeons are completely optional.
- Space travel is simplified: no enemies, one single area.
In Ultima 1 there were 4 continents, each one featuring 2 castles, 8 towns and 9 dungeons.
In Ultima 2 there are 14 "continents" (time ages and planets), but all together they add up to a total of 3 castles, 13 towns and 7 dungeons.
New features of Ultima 2 include simply: Time Gates (ancestors of Moon Gates) and more items.
