Uru: Ages Beyond Myst is an adventure game developed by Cyan Worlds and published by Ubisoft. Initially meant to be an online experience, delays forced Cyan to release it as a single-player game. It's multiplayer counterpart, Myst Online: Uru Live, would see a release a few years later.
Continuing the story, two expansions were released for the game - To D'ni and The Path of the Shell, each with new Ages to explore and puzzles to solve. Cyan would eventually bundle these together with the base game, known as Uru: Complete Chronicles.
Gameplay[edit | edit source]
Uru plays similar to the previous entries in the series. The player explores various worlds via books, known as Ages, and must solve the puzzles within them to progress the story. Most of these Ages can be visited in any order desired, and can be left and returned to at any time. Unlike previous entries in the series, Uru features full 3D graphics as opposed to pre-rendered scenes. It is also the first to feature a third-person player perspective (though first-person can still be used).
