Pokémon Diamond and Pearl[edit]

Please note: This is a rejected review of mine from Neoseeker

Good: Diamond and Pearl are truly a refreshment for the series. Diamond and Pearl feature absolutely wonderful 3D overworld graphics and dazzling new attack animations. Diamond and Pearl feature an entire crop of new Pokemon including pre-evolutions of previous Pokemon, evolutions of previous Pokemon and many brand new Pokemon.

Bad: The main problems here are the seemingly long save times and the plot repetition. We continually see the same plot throughout the Pokemon series, its about time for something fresh and new don't you think? Once again we find a team (It's always a team!) who has evil, maniacal plans to either harness the power of Pokemon to get their way or are intentionally harming Pokemon. First cam Team Rocket, Then Team Magma and Aqua and now Team Galactic. I notice alot of repitition of the same old formula, don't you?

Comments: Diamond and Pearl are truly awesome. The new graphics, the attack animations, the new Pokemon and the massive amount of connectivity options. There are many ways to connect with others in Diamond and Pearl. First of all, there is the innotive GTS. You can browse for the Pokemon you want, and place a Pokemon in the GTS requesting in return for a Pokemon of your choosing. Next comes the Underground. You can dig up Underground exclusive items and chat and play capture the flag with your flags. The most striking of Diamond and Pearls many connectivity features is the ability to battle and trade with frinds over Wi-Fi. With voice chat always on, you have the option of raising conversation with your friends while trading, or offer taunts during a battle. The coonectivity options are endless, connectivity is one of the main features of Diamond and Pearl. Thanks to the DS's innotive touch screen, attack and item selection during battle has been vastly simplified. The whole system may seem a bit slower than that of the GBA games, but it is alot easier than pressing a button. For those who do not like the new battle setup, or don't feel comfortable using it, the A button is still open for use on battle menu selection. The land of Sinnoh is a beautiful place. With many climates and weather forms that expands off of what the GBA games started, Sinnoh is one of the best regions when it comes to variety and how attracting it is. You can travel over vast fields of snow, trough a rain and thunderstorm ravaged grassland and swamp, across a sandstorm whipped desert and through raining ash. Diamond and Pearl breath new life into the long lasting RPG series, and are by far the best experience you can find for the DS.
