I've always been inspired by Melon247's Competitions and large ongoing group collaborations like the Move lists and Achievements projects. I don't know if this would ever reach the level of being a full project like those but I would like to offer up the invitation for anyone feeling bold to join me in fleshing out uncompleted categories that we have knowledge of.
I openly admit that the general formatting and idea is based on Melon's beautiful Competition page.
Objective overview[edit]
Sometimes it seems pages for companies and series' get overlooked compared to their games. Our objective is to go through the Company and Series categories and find ones that aren't as good as they could be and improve/complete them. Just think how much work would get done if we each did a little research on one of our favorite companies and/or series each month?
Tips[edit]
- If you got a lot of information from somewhere please reference your source(s) in the summery box when you edit.
- Make sure any logos found have a proper record of where they came from.
- Of course don't break any rules when it comes to copy pasting.
- Especially when it comes to some series, like Batman for example, what is best for us is a brief to the point summery of what the series is and common themes/characters found in the majority of their games. If Wikipedia's page on it is huge and the information is beyond our scope it is better to have a solid summery and link to Wikipedia for those who would want to learn more. This is generally a good objective for games that are based off of movies and other not game media.
Current targets[edit]
I'm not sure how much interest this project will be getting but if you would really like us to work on something specific then feel free to post it here.
- Finding clear logo images that are missing for specific companies and series.
- Checking if any companies have merged or closed and need to be added to the Defunct companies category.
- When covering a specific company doublecheck all variants of the name for duplicate pages that need merging or redirects that need making to make searching and linking easier.
