Smash Bros. redirect[edit]

Thanks for moving Super Smash Bros. to the new page, I've set up a redirect from the old one -Tapo

WHY?[edit]

Why did you remove all of my categories? This is really starting to piss me off. If you continue to remove any content that people add this wiki will die. This is totally stupid.--Goose241 08:59, 10 January 2006 (PST)

  • Too many categories is only confusing. I agree with Hack's decision--BMH 09:03, 10 January 2006 (PST)
  • A decision was made to remove all those extra categories. They were just redundant and not needed. Right now, we are ONLY going to stick with Companies, Genres, and Systems. Do not create those categories again. Note: I did not remove your content, just the categories that were not necessary. --Hack 09:05, 10 January 2006 (PST)
  • The point is that we need a way to designate the xbox arcade games. How should we do this? I am in charge of a few wiki's myself http://gamer-guide.com and http://halo2.xwiki.com if you start limiting the users and screwing with there work they will just quit using your site. I think that you should think twice before removing so much hard work. If you don't want people to add categories then don't let them in the first place.
  • Besides adding a little sentence mentioning that 'this game works/comes from the live arcade service', I don't see why we need to specifically designate games that basically work on the Xbox platform. It plays on the Xbox, so thats the category that it belongs to. We just don't need to go over-categorizing everything. I'm happy that you want to contribute, don't get me wrong. And I have not messed with your actual content, only your categorization method. Next time you want to propose some change that would take effect wiki-wide, maybe you should ask about it on the community issues page first (although this issue has already been discussed there). In any case, try to come up with some other way to designate that the game uses such services. I'll see what can be done. --Hack 09:20, 10 January 2006 (PST)

GNU License[edit]

Hi Hack, I see you're online. Can you protect the StrategyWiki:GNU_Free_Documentation_License page please. It needs to be protected for legal reasons. Jackhynes 09:42, 11 January 2006 (PST)

  • Done. Enjoy. :) --Hack 09:45, 11 January 2006 (PST)

Relicensing your contributions[edit]

StrategyWiki is transitioning from the GNU Free Doc license to the new StrategyWiki Public license. But in order to do so we need every contributor to each guide to sign their name on this page. There is more information on the transition there but if you could sign your name it would greatly help the strategywiki mission as a whole, thank you. -- Mason11987 (Talk - Contributions) 08:48, 30 June 2006 (PDT)
