Pokémon G/S/C[edit]

Nice work on the guide pages, just to note, to make the pages, I've made a template so just add to the page, save it, then edit it again, it has most of the info needed to make a page.
Happy Editing--RockyRally-X Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 11:58, 3 April 2007 (CDT)

Hi, about the level ranges, can you please use text instead of <b>text</b>, it's pretty small really, also, is there a reason that you are putting the level ranges at the bottom. Thanks for the help on the guide--RockyRally-X Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 14:02, 3 April 2007 (CDT)

The contributions can be seen by clicking the history link on each specific page. We don't really encourage a separate page for "contributors" since anyone can edit the page, and some people may not add their names. -- Prod (Talk) 23:36, 4 April 2007 (CDT)

Mushroom[edit]

Hi, I think it's the tinymushroom but I'm not 100 certain, all of the other items I put in I've got on my silver version. Do you know what the silver leaf does? Thanks for the help on the guide.--RockyRally-X Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 01:49, 4 April 2007 (CDT)

Hi, the pic should be in Category:Pokémon artwork, if it's not post on my talk and I'll re-upload it.--RockyRally-X Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 11:34, 4 April 2007 (CDT)

Sorry, how do you get nightmare in route 31, delivery's a bit vague?--RockyRally-X Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 11:48, 4 April 2007 (CDT)

Dark Cave[edit]

Sorry, I'm adding the bit after rock smash but if you go North, it is considered Mt. Mortar, is this OK with you?--RockyRally-X Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 12:14, 4 April 2007 (CDT)

Images[edit]

Sorry, I've been out, don't upload them because they're already here, thanks for the explanation for the TM, I think I remember now, thanks. Also can you sign your posts with ~~~~ so it puts the time on the posts, you can customise your sig in preferences, if you want some code then you know where to find me.--RockyRally-X Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 15:09, 4 April 2007 (CDT)

Sorry about the mixup with the images, next time can you upload them with the name of the game first, Grass.png would be hard to find and would need renaming so Pokemon_Type_Grass.png would be a better title, it actually became PkmnType_grass.gif, also when uploading, forget the é because it's annoying to get every time you need to put in an image.--RockyRally-X Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 15:37, 4 April 2007 (CDT)

Attack List[edit]

Bulbapedia:List of moves no.s 1-251 are all of the moves in GEN 1 and 2

Actually, don't try and copy it all over, I'll get an admin to transfer that and the histories together--RockyRally-X Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 15:19, 4 April 2007 (CDT)

Userboxes[edit]

Hi, about the userboxes on your userpage, there is a nice template called Wpuserbox that mirrors a wikipedia-style userbox, like so (view code to see how its done):

WI This user uses West Indian English

Thanks, and don't forget to sign your comments with ~~~~! --Ryan SchmidtTalk - Contribs 16:31, 4 April 2007 (CDT)

Contributors[edit]

Sorry about butting in Prod, but we've already got one. For any page, you can click history and it will give you a full list of edits and contributions, look here and here to see what I mean, hope this helps.--RockyRally-X Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 03:31, 5 April 2007 (CDT)

If your really feel that you want the contribution list in there, may I suggest a credits page? Put the names of contributors under a section entitled "Guide Credits" using bullet points and the User template, like so:
Guide credits
(PS, please don't go to a new line when including your signature as it disrupts the flow/indenting of the talk page) --Ryan SchmidtTalk - Contribs 21:07, 5 April 2007 (CDT)

Response on Rocky's page.[edit]

Hi Halosonic. I just wanted to inform you that I posted a response to your question to Rocky on Rocky's talk page. Thanks. Procyon (Talk) 14:46, 10 April 2007 (CDT)

Hi, about that, link to Bulbapedia if you want the combos for contests but if it's like rain dance and thunder then go into a 2nd gen game (silver, crystal etc.), remove everyone from your phone list and go to the national park, find and add Schoolboy Jack to your phone list, go to your house and talk to your mum and repeatedly switch betwwen DST and non-DST, you'll get a lot of tips faster this way. Hope this helps!--RockyRally-X Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 15:23, 10 April 2007 (CDT)

Credits[edit]

I've done a test of the page here and here, what do you think, feel free to improve them.

I did say feel free to improve them for a reason :-P, I'll put it up now, thanks for the feedback.

Other Starter[edit]

Sorry about reverting your edit on Ilex Forest but I was palnning to leave it like that because after I finish the guide, I'll restart my version and get the info for the other 2 starters. Sorry again.--RockyRally-X Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 15:15, 12 April 2007 (CDT)

Pokémon G/S/C[edit]

Yeah, I'm still working on it it's just that a few sysop tasks are slowing me down a bit. I'm trying to work on it a bit more cuz it's on the main page. I'm training for the league in my version at the moment so any routes after Kanto would be helpful as I can't access those yet but anything at all will be helpful.--RockyRally-X Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 09:30, 7 May 2007 (CDT)

Pokemon Red and Blue[edit]

Hi Halosonic. I noticed the question you had for Rocky about G/S/C. I wanted to invite you to look over and review all of the content that I've contributed for R/B/Y so far, and verify the accuracy of it. I've been trying to push myself to finish the guide, and will do so shortly, but I would appreciate anyone's help in reviewing the content that I am currently finished with. Thank you. Procyon (Talk) 09:35, 7 May 2007 (CDT)

Hi Halosonic. Congrats on getting past your exams, I'm sure that's a relief. You have perfect timing actually. Here's the situation with Pokemon R/B/Y. I am hell bent on completing the entire Walkthrough by the end of the month. There's only a few pages left for me to do (including the last two pages which were not written by me and need to be redone.) Now, what you see on the existing pages is pretty much all that I know, or all that I can think of to report. I imagine that on more than one page, I may have:
 • misreported something
 • forgot to mention something
 • neglected to mention something cuz I didn't know about it.
 • Forgot to link named Pokémon to Bulbapedia (in fact, I never did that with items or skills, and that could be done too.)
 • misspelled things (I'm notorious for that, but I've gotten better since I started using Firefox 2.0)
Also, there are two red links in the ToC, Items and Skills, which I really did not have much intention of doing. If at the very least, they contained a list of links to the equivalent item and skill pages in Bulbapedia, that would be awesome. And last but not least is general formatting issues. I was very ambitious with this guide, and I know that the pages have some layout problems in IE, but not Firefox. Rocky has been taking care of most of those problems. But I trust you, and if you feel that things would look better if rearranged, then go for it. All in all, I just want to feel that someone besides me is ensuring that the information contained in the walkthrough is correct, clear, and concise. After all, it's not my guide, it's everyone's. Thanks so much! Procyon (Talk) 12:35, 15 June 2007 (CDT)
What, no, I'm using FireFox now, it's so much better, I wouldn't think of going back to the Dark side, the spellchecker and tabs are priceless, now if only it had a find and replace... But I do check the pages from time to time. Route 16-18 has the map problem still and silph company has problems with the text (It's to the right of the pics) also Celadon City, I'll try and change them in a bit, the silph and celadon were a pain first time--RockyRally-X Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 12:41, 15 June 2007 (CDT)

Pokémon G/S/C[edit]

Pokémon G/S/C Route[edit]

Hi again, what route do you suggest that I take, I'm at route 14 (I've just beaten Fuchsia Gym and I'm not sure if I should take the path up to Lavender or round to Cinibar, Cerulean Gym is closed for some reason as well. What is the right path to take? Thanks.--RockyRally-X Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 12:33, 25 May 2007 (CDT)

Your Questions[edit]

1)At the moment I have in my Crystal:

 • Pidgeot Lv.54,
 • Weepinbell (Used for cut & Flash etc.) Lv.24,
 • Typhlosion Lv.54,
 • Gyarados Lv.52,
 • Scyther (Originally used for Roaming Pokemon but makes a gr8 party member) Lv.56
 • Suicune Lv.56,
 • Snorlax Lv.50 (In my box)

At the moment, I'm in Mount Silver, training to beat Red, when I win, I'll start Mt. Mortar, ROA Crystal Quest, Ho-Oh's tower (get 3 beasts), Lugia's cave and put that b4 the elite 4 and finish off all the routes that I couldn't be bothered filling in :P.

2)Yeah, I won't merge the routes but I'll start making them look a bit nicer, I'm going to put Sprites for trainers on ever page (like here), also an encounter rate box and rates for the games, I'll ask proc to e-mail me the rates or something. I'll start sidebars for Crstal stuff as well.

3)You can do whatever you want, when I'm done I might trade all my Pokémon from my prized silver version (I've got Pokérus, Mew, 6+ Lv100s and 251 Pokédex, no celebi though) to my crystal and redo the silver :(, TM locations and Pokémon found would be good if you can (Do you have a guide or anything because all of Your Pokémon founds are really good?). So do anything you want.--RockyRally-X Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 10:49, 11 June 2007 (CDT)

P.S I moved the Credits to Crystal.--RockyRally-X Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 11:03, 11 June 2007 (CDT)

Temp page[edit]

Feel free to edit this, I've started it but feel free to improve it. Just put , feel free to move it to your user page with the move tool.--10:20, 12 June 2007 (CDT)

It works for me, silly question but did you have two of those squiggly brackets either side, it also won't work if you copy the nowikis. Can you describe what you get on the page when you subst the "template" on a page, try it out on the Sandbox, the links are User:Rocky/Temp Page RSE and to put it onto the page. Hope this helps if not gimmie a shout. --RockyRally-X Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 13:35, 14 June 2007 (CDT)
If you really want another link then add " &preload=User:Rocky/Temp_Page_RSE " to the bar when creating a new page (The page needs to be blank).--RockyRally-X Rock.png (Talk - Contributions) 14:33, 14 June 2007 (CDT)

Losing your work[edit]

Hi Halosonic. Sorry to hear about the work that you lost. What browser do you use? I use Firefox, and it tends to be really great about caching the text that I write in the edit boxes, so even if I leave the page, it's always there when I come back. Not sure if it would have helped in your particular situation (sounds like you timed your login out), but I imagine it would have. I haven't lost work for a long time because no matter what happens, Firefox hangs on to what you type in memory. Procyon (Talk) 13:51, 15 June 2007 (CDT)

Mystery Dungeon[edit]

What only admins can do here...[edit]

...is not all that much. The only extra rights sysops have over normal users is chronicled here. Everything not listed there is do-able by normal users as well, this includes:

 • Creating a page in almost every namespace (exceptions being psuedo-namespaces like File:, Media:, and Special:, and the MediaWiki: namespace).
 • Renaming a page via the "move" tab
 • Editing non-protected pages
 • Uploading images
 • and much, much, much more.

Also, the staff lounge isn't really for "staff". It's just a place to ask questions and get answers by other users (it's just that generally one of the admins replies to the question as well, hence the name). --Skizzerz Scissors.pngSafety Skizzerz Talk · Contribs · Spel Chek™ · VFG · RTFM 18:45, 12 November 2007 (CST)

MMBN Title[edit]

I'm a bit confused here. What are you trying to accomplish with this template (what do you want it to do, where do you want to use it, how do you want to use it, etc.)? --Skizzerz Scissors.pngSafety Skizzerz Talk · Contribs · Spel Chek™ · VFG · RTFM 19:09, 12 November 2007 (CST)

Ok, well... that sort of stuff really shouldn't be on a template then (if it's only for copy/pasting), put it on a sub-page of your user space instead. Templates should really only be used if they are being included or substituted into numerous pages (such as Header Nav or StrategyWiki welcome for some site-wide ones, or and ZTP for some guide-specific ones). If you want to move it into a user sub-page, use the "move" tab at the top of the template page, then put in "User:Halosonic/MMBN Title" for the new title part. Of course, I could also help you make it more template-ish as an alternative for moving it. Of course, making it template-like would pretty much make it like the "New game guide" preload, so... it's up to you.
Also, if you have multiple images, instead of exploiting the infobox like that, just put the two pics together in some image editing program (paint, gimp, photoshop), and upload that for use instead. Also, your table of contents goes in the "/Table of Contents" sub-page of the guide, just click on the link in the header nav to get there. If you have any questions, just reply here (I'll catch it almost immediately if I'm on, so don't put it on my talk page). --Skizzerz Scissors.pngSafety Skizzerz Talk · Contribs · Spel Chek™ · VFG · RTFM 19:39, 12 November 2007 (CST)

Ok ive run into an unforseen problem. ive opened the Title template/subpage. im getting the table to appear, but how do i edit it? all i see is its shortcut still on the edititng board. Halosonic 20:06, 12 November 2007 (CST)

That wasn't the only problem you ran into... btw, when creating pages, double-check the title of the page. I've created the new page for you, but here's how to use that thing of yours: you have to put and save that. Or better yet, just c/p the code (saves an edit). --Skizzerz Scissors.pngSafety Skizzerz Talk · Contribs · Spel Chek™ · VFG · RTFM 20:14, 12 November 2007 (CST)

Eh,Skizzerz, do you know whats the stry with the GBA button images? im trying to put them on the page for the MMBN controls, but the images arent coming up. Halosonic 20:54, 15 November 2007 (CST)

yeah, use gb. for example, A = A button, Left = Left dpad. See the template page (in the first link I gave you, or the one at the end of this sentence) for a list of all the images that can be used with gb. --Skizzerz Scissors.pngSafety Skizzerz Talk · Contribs · Spel Chek™ · VFG · RTFM 21:00, 15 November 2007 (CST)

Ryan, he doesn't need it, he's just confused about how to access a non-existant ToC. Halo, if you want to edit Mega Man Battle Network 2's table of contents you can either click that link, or go to the MMBN2 page and click on Table of Contents in the header nav, or the link lower in the Table of Contents section of the page. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 23:21, 30 November 2007 (CST)

whenever i try to that, it says the page is locked.Halosonic 23:23, 30 November 2007 (CST)

Ok let me explain my situation better. MMBN1,4 and 6 dont have the table of contents set up properly, and i dont know how to transfer the layuot to the other pages. Halosonic 23:51, 30 November 2007 (CST)

Halo, can you follow one of those links and then copy and paste the whole message you recieve to this post? All you have to do is copy the code from any of the existing ToC's to a new one, then change the links to apply to the correct game. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 00:02, 1 December 2007 (CST)

Hmm... it seems that Prod set up the links for the TOC properly, so that problem seems to be settled, snd i dont need to transfer the message, its been fixed. sorry about the problems I caused tonight.Halosonic 00:29, 1 December 2007 (CST)

No problem. Also, remember that you need a footer nav on every page that uses a header nav except the ToC and main page. Thanks. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 00:31, 1 December 2007 (CST)

Image Categorization[edit]

Halo, please do not use general categories (article categories) for categorizing images like you did here. The correct image category (Category:Mega Man Battle Network 2 images) is already in place. RSS[edit]

I don't even know if the SW RSS works properly, let alone customization. Were you able to even get a RSS feed? You can always go into your watch list and remove all the pages you don't want to see, but just go to every page you want to watch, and click watch, and then check your watch list for updates. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 19:52, 3 December 2007 (CST)

Pokedex[edit]

Why are you making a whole new Pokedex, when we have a perfectly good one here that people worked very hard on? Procyon (Talk) 16:23, 5 December 2007 (CST)

Oh, shoot, i didn't see that one. only thing is though, i don't want a general dex, but only those specific to the advance generation, so only the first 386 are present. even so, its not as detailed as the one that i was putting up. speaking of pokedexes, the hoenn dex is not accurate to the game, its only 252 to 386, and doesnt give consideration to the ones from the previous generations that were in the game. Peace out, God Bless (havent said that in a while). Halosonic 23:20, 5 December 2007 (CST)

We have a partnership with Bulbapedia. Only the minimum amount of non-Walkthrough information is stored on SW, while we refer readers to Bulbapedia for as much non-Walkthrough information as an author thinks necessary. In turn, Bulbapedia refers its readers to SW for Walkthrough information. Please use an interwiki method such as Bulbapedia:Pokédex or Template:bp to refer our readers to Bulbapedia's pokedex, or make whatever corrections are necessary in our existing Pokedex. Perhaps we could add extra columns to our pokedex that allow users to sort by whichever in-game Pokedex they which to use. Procyon (Talk) 09:23, 6 December 2007 (CST)

ok, so do you want me to copy the releveant sections from the main pokedex into the national dex and just add a side column for ability and type, or what exactly? Oh, and another thing. can you see if you can get the page for route 104 split into a north and south page? even though they are the same route, they are separted by the petalburg woods, and have different trainers, items and such in them. thanks in advance. Halosonic 12:35, 6 December 2007 (CST)

What I'm suggesting for our Pokedex, is that you can add new columns to the table that identify each Pokemon's Pokedex ID in different Pokedexes. Since you can make the tables sortable, a reader could sort the list by one Pokedex and see the order of each Pokemon in that Pokedex, and then sort it by another Pokedex to seem them in a different order. Do you see what I mean? At the moment, I have my hands full with the Fighting game moves, so you might which to ask Rocky for some help with the Pokemon route pages. Procyon (Talk) 12:41, 6 December 2007 (CST)
I'll give the route thing a go, can you check it over after because I am not certain which trainers are where in the route and the items etc...--The preceding signed comment was added by Rocky (talkcontribs). 12:18, 7 December 2007 (CST)

Pokemon Crystal Header[edit]

Pages should only have one header nav. The games are (mostly) the same which is why the headers are shared. -- Prod (Talk) 23:30, 10 December 2007 (CST)

ok, but is there a way for those who use crystal can get a link in the header back to the crystal homepage? Halosonic 23:33, 10 December 2007 (CST)

Check how the Diablo II/Table of Contents is set up for a link back. -- Prod (Talk) 23:37, 10 December 2007 (CST)

is there another way to back link the header rather than that what is in diablo 2? i dont think that header will be a good idea. Halosonic 23:41, 10 December 2007 (CST)

I'm not too sure of a good way of linking back to those apart from a link in the Table of Contents. If you have any other suggestions let me know. -- Prod (Talk) 23:58, 10 December 2007 (CST)

my idea for its structure is to have it set up something like this: |Pokémon Gold and Silver|Pokemon Crystal|Table of Contents|Pokedex| my main problem with the diablo template is that the word when i put it in came out and put the whole article under the subheading, and the title was too big.

uurghh.. its late, and i have exams... i should be studying...i think i should look at this next week...

Peace out, God Bless Halosonic 00:05, 11 December 2007 (CST)

The header isn't nearly as important as the Table of Contents. Crystal should transclude the Gold and Silve Table of Contents, and that ToC should contain information that is unique or pertinent to Crystal, just as the ToC for Red and Blue (which is shared by Yellow) contains a unique link for Yellow information. Halo, please run you thoughts by one of us before making a drastic move that will require a lot of undoing on someone else's part. Procyon (Talk) 09:27, 11 December 2007 (CST)

User contributions[edit]

Hi Halosonic. Even if you implemented such a list, there wouldn't necessarily be any added incentive for someone to work on a guide just because they own and/or have played it. People are inclined to work on the guides that they simply have an urge to work on. Unless we are going to implement some rewards incentive to people for adding good guide content (which we don't have the money to do), then there's no real way to influence what guides a user works on. Say the person contributing to the list is you. If you had Super Mario Galaxy, you are only going to add to that guide if you want to, not because you have it. And if you saw that someone else owned Pokemon GSC, how would you convince them to contribute to the guide if they aren't already? If they wanted to, they would have done so. They must know that the guide exists. We even have a requested guides page that goes largely ignored. So... I dunno if that answers your question. It's not a bad idea in theory, it's just not very practical in application, human psychology being what it is. Procyon (Talk) 15:07, 13 December 2007 (CST)

hmm.. well, possibly, i think probably the request page seems...a bit unnoticeable...maybe probably even for a few weeks or so, promoting the idea for people to add to the list, and suggest, rather than tell, to people who are not doing much but are still active to look into developing them, or atleasty giving whatever raw data theyu could find, and we could fix it up at a later date. how about this? Halosonic 16:44, 13 December 2007 (CST)
Again, I ask you, what possible difference would this make? If people were motivated to work on a particular guide, they would. That's the entire purpose of this site. It's here both for people to read, and for people to contribute to. Suggesting to someone that they work on game such-and-such isn't going to prompt many people to go ahead and do it, because they would have already done so if they wanted to in the first place. I don't contribute to the guides that I work on because I think someone else wants to see them. I contribute to the guides that I work on because I want to. For a while, people looked to me to work on a guide for Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, and I started to do one, but in the end, I wasn't motivated or interested enough in the game to do it. Maybe that will change in the future, but for right now, I'm happier working on games according to my own schedule. I don't really understand the notion of "people who are not doing much but are still active." That seems to be a bit of an oxymoron. If they're not doing much, how can they be active? If they're active, then they must be active on another guide that they're interested in.
Ultimately, it's not up to me, this site is based on the community. I can only tell you what I think, and I do that based on the experiences we've had trying similar concepts in the past. If you are really interested in pursuing this, I recommend that you bring it up to the community in Community issues. You might get support for the idea, but I have a hunch most of the sysops are going to agree with me. Procyon (Talk) 17:27, 13 December 2007 (CST)

Re-arranging the guide[edit]

All you have to do is edit the footer nav at the end of the page and change the order in the table of contents. I'll do it now though--The preceding signed comment was added by Rocky (talkcontribs). 10:43, 18 December 2007 (CST)

I'm going to have a bit of trouble with no.2 until you add in a section in route 104(South). I'll do the route 105,106,107,and the ship. I think you should do the cave first if it is a good place to train for the gym, otherwise, do the gym.--The preceding signed comment was added by Rocky (talkcontribs). 11:18, 18 December 2007 (CST)

Greetings[edit]

Pokemon maps.[edit]

Hi Halosonic. I edited those Pokemon maps, using GIMP. If I'm not mistaken, the font I used was the Slant Ultra-Light TTF. Let me know if you need any more help.

P.S. For the record, I am atheist and do not celebrate Christmas. But I hope that you enjoyed yours. Procyon (Talk) 09:55, 26 December 2007 (CST)

 1. Select a color (click on the top color block if you want to change the current selection)
 2. Select Paintbrush tool
 3. Under Brushes, choose one of the larger circles (15 or 17)
 4. Wherever you want to label a point, just single click the point on the map with the paintbrush. You don't need to drag the mouse, just one point will do.
 5. Switch to text tool (the big T)
 6. Choose the right font and point size. I was using Slant Ultra-Light and a point size of 18 I think.
 7. Change your color to an alternate color, such as white (you can set it to the background color and switch between the foreground and background color so that you don't have to keep selecting the colors you want.)
 8. With the text tool cursor, click somewhere over the point that you made with the paintbrush. It doesn't have to be perfect, you can move it later.
 9. Type the letter or symbol you want to add.
 10. Click the move tool (the four-way arrow, or just press M)
 11. Adjust the position of the letter so that it is nicely centered in the paintbrush dot.
 12. Go back to the original layer (you need use the layer tool, press Ctrl-L if you can't see it) and repeat these steps for every letter you need to add.

Pokemon info[edit]

Hi Halosonic. I'm not really as familiar with Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald as I was with Red/Blue/Yellow or Gold/Silver/Crystal. So I'm not going to be nearly as knowledgeable about those Pokemon. All that I can offer is some copy editing in terms of grammar/spelling. To that end, I'll do what I can, but I am confident that your knowledge of Pokemon is quite sufficient to come up with constructive critiques of the Pokemon that you encounter on your own. You can use the same graphics and format, every Pokemon art should be uploaded to the site by now. Procyon (Talk) 14:11, 15 January 2008 (CST)

Nice job so far. You're providing a lot of good analysis. When you reach Pokemon that were accessible in earlier games (RBY or GSC), try to explain how they have changed (or not changed at all) from previous games so that players will understand how their strategy has changed. Keep it up. Procyon (Talk) 15:11, 15 January 2008 (CST)

alright. I'm gonna keep this aside for a few days. due to problems, I'm only gonna come here on the weekends, but I'll do what I can. Halosonic 15:15, 15 January 2008 (CST)

Hey, Procyon, im having a problem with the profile box forhere. could you help me out here? im gonna save it with the problem. Halosonic 20:26, 19 January 2008 (CST)

Color codes[edit]

Hey. If you want a generic color, you can use "red", "green", and "blue" as the parameters. But if you want to derive them hexadecimally, you would use "#FF0000" for red, "#00FF00" for green, and "#0000FF" for blue. The codes are derived by six hecadecimal values, as rrggbb, where each two letters is a two digit hexidecimal number ranging from 00 (0) to FF (255). Grey colors are derived by assigning the same values to all three colors (e.g. #808080). Procyon (Talk) 20:16, 25 January 2008 (CST)

Since you probably don't know hex very well, you might as well use a converter: [1]. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 21:14, 25 January 2008 (CST)

ok thanks a lot for the link, but, is there a way to have 2 colourson the same banner without them being mixed? Halosonic 21:25, 25 January 2008 (CST)

Nope. That's not possible in Wiki markup. Procyon (Talk) 21:27, 25 January 2008 (CST)

aight. thanx anyways. Halosonic 21:30, 25 January 2008 (CST)

Well what do you want to do, have 2 bars? You can't mix colors, but you could just split the boxes into different parts... --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 21:46, 25 January 2008 (CST)

ok... and you could shrink the two bar widths to match the length of a normal one? Halosonic 21:49, 25 January 2008 (CST)

All you do is use something like this: <div>Invisible area for bounding the box, set a width.<div style="width:100%;">box1 with color</div><div style="width:100%;">box 2 with other color</div></div> --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 04:03, 26 January 2008 (CST)
box1 with color
box 2 with other color

okk...but is there any way to expand the text from box 1 to cover both boxes, or will i have to write on the first one only? Halosonic 17:53, 27 January 2008 (CST)

Not without using an image or somehow floating the text... which might be possible but I dunno. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 18:50, 27 January 2008 (CST)
Halo, I'm sorry man, but there's no way to do what you're talking about. A table cell can only be colored in by one specific color. That's simply the way that it works. The only other way is to do it with an image, which I assure you is not worth the trouble. You'll have to come up with a different way to indicate multiple games for a particular Pokemon. Procyon (Talk) 21:26, 27 January 2008 (CST)
oh well, I'll Just have to set colours for Ruby/Emerald and Sapphire/Emerald...i can think of one for SE but not for RE. any Ideas?Halosonic 21:31, 27 January 2008 (CST)

Ruby + Emerald = Red + Green = #FF0000 + #00FF00 = #FFFF00 = Yellow
Sapphire + Emerald = Blue + Green = #0000FF + #00FF00 = #00FFFF = Cyan
Just my $0.02, but this seems like a very complicated way to do this. Why not use the system that we have for RBY or GSC? The other thing you can do is use rowspan to create something like this:

Pokemon 1 Ruby Pokemon 2 Emerald Pokemon 3 Sapphire
Emerald

It's a long way to go to accomplish what you're looking for, and not worth it IMO. I think you need to reevaluate your approach and design a system that works well with Wiki, instead of designing a Wiki that works well with your system.

Ok... although, the cyan/yellow thing seems good enough to accomplish what i want (although I'll use something other than yellow, it would seem a bit confusing)... but i'll leave this till Friday, I have work to do.

Peace Out, God Bless. Halosonic 21:55, 27 January 2008 (CST)

Oh I thought this was for user boxes or something useless lol... I would recommend using some sort of icon for each version of the game, like a miniature icon (like Bulbapedia's) for each (just put a legend at the top). --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 01:18, 28 January 2008 (CST)

Guide completion stages[edit]

If you feel that a guide deserves a higher completion stage, just edit the guide's main page and change the num parameter in the Header Nav. You don't need the permission of any admin or the community to change it :) --Skizzerz_Scissors.png Safety Skizzerz 11:36, 3 February 2008 (CST) Aight, thanks. Guide Level Changes[edit]

Use the SW mantra, "Be bold." Change it if you think it has improved to where it meets the criteria of the completion level. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 15:20, 3 February 2008 (CST)

Lol I apologize for the duplicate message. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 15:23, 3 February 2008 (CST)

MMBN5[edit]

Just add links to the Mega Man Battle Network 5/Table of Contents. If you make any mistakes, someone will help clean it up. -- Prod (Talk) 00:32, 28 May 2008 (CDT)

Do the chapters have official names, or are they simply named Chapter 1, 2, etc. If they do have official names, we should be using those (however they are displayed in the game). -- Prod (Talk) 22:36, 18 June 2008 (CDT)

There are chapters in the game, but they are unnamed. each chapter is completed by going to sleep when the storyline objectives are complete. so i've just separated the chapters into general names so there wouldn't be any Protoman/Colonel story incinsistencies, if you understand what I mean. Peace out, God Bless. Halosonic 22:41, 18 June 2008 (CDT)

redirecting pages[edit]

Put #REDIRECT Another page as the very top line on the page. Clicking on the http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/c8/Button_redirect.png button in the edit bar atop the box will add in the necessary syntax as well. Note that it won't show up right in preview, but it will work when you save. --Skizzerz (talk · contribs) 10:28, 24 June 2008 (CDT) Thanx. Halosonic 10:33, 24 June 2008 (CDT)

Re: MMBN maps[edit]

Don't contact the site owner, but rather the person whose name actually appears on the maps. I'm not much of a legal guru, so if you feel like you can make the contact yourself, go ahead, otherwise ask a different sysop who knows how to go about asking them to do it :P --Skizzerz (talk · contribs) 09:35, 25 June 2008 (CDT)

Image categorisation[edit]

When uploading images, please make sure to categorise them using the correct image categories and the guide-specific category, i.e. . The image policy is viewable here, and contains all the information you'll need to categorise future uploads. --najzereT 16:02, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Subpages[edit]

Go to the Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver/Table of Contents and add links there. Click the link you created, and use the preloads at the top of the page, and then edit away :). However, as this game appears to be an "enhanced remake" only the differences between the games need to be mentioned. Anything that is from the original games don't need to be described again. -- Prod (Talk) 19:40, 14 March 2010 (UTC)

There's already a table of contents at the top, so I don't think there's any benefit of making the individual chip descriptions collapsible. You might want to switch to table rows instead of sections for each chip, but it might not come out too well with the images. The ToC could perhaps use some work, or split that one page into many. -- Prod (Talk) 03:04, 16 March 2010 (UTC)

Pokemon RS&E Walkthrough[edit]

Hi Halosonic. I've been trying to do my bit to the Walkthrough for Pokemon RS&E, but as i'm pretty new to editing Wikis, i have only been adding text about Trainers, Items etc. and i've encountered quite a few pictures are missing - maps, character sprites... Do you have a list / category of sprites anywhere?? And instructions on how to insert pictures (for maps) would be great. Thanks!! --Danneal12 (talk) 11:21, 12 April 2014 (UTC)
