Welcome to StrategyWiki![edit]

Hello Jack Phoenix! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the StrategyWiki Guide. If you have a question about the content on this wiki, you can check out our staff lounge page. If you want to ask questions or hang out in IRC, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the community portal talk page. Please remember to sign your name on, and only on, talk pages by clicking Wikisigbutton.png or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field as this helps to document all of your hard work. Feel free to delete this message from your talk page if you like, or keep it for reference. Happy editing! -- Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 15:11, 7 February 2008 (CST)

Lol I didn't even check to see whether you had contributed anything yet... --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 15:11, 7 February 2008 (CST)
Thanks for the welcome still. I'll try to fix some typos and perhaps even add info whenever I have a few extra moments. ;-) --Jack Phoenix (Contact) 15:26, 7 February 2008 (CST)
I smell SW's newest sysop. ^_^ Procyon (Talk) 15:40, 7 February 2008 (CST)

Silly template[edit]

Why are you removing the pokebuck template? It's a shortcut tool for editors so they can type less and don't have to remember how to make an "é". — najzereT 19:05, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

You mean a Pokebuck.png. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 19:12, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
Most pages used [[File:Pokebuck.png]] even before my edits. In any case, such a template is absolutely silly and unnecessary. If the letter é is really so problematic, then maybe the image should be renamed. I don't believe that laziness is a valid reason for creating mini-templates like the Pokebuck template. Templates should be used as shortcuts for large amounts of wikitext, such as game infoboxes etc. but not for displaying one small image. --Jack Phoenix (Contact) 19:20, 20 November 2009 (UTC)
I think we go to great lengths to make editing as easy as possible for people of all skill levels, which I don't equate with laziness. Pokémon games in particular are popular with young gamers, and from patrolling edits to the guides I can say that they need all the help they can get. :P In this case, I thought the template had a widespread use, but apparently that's not the case, so it's probably fine to get rid of it. According to standards scattered across the wiki, Pokémon images are supposed to use a normal "e" in their file names, so maybe the image name should be changed. — najzereT 19:33, 20 November 2009 (UTC)

Return to activity?[edit]

I know that you've only come back to ask Prod about the Whale skin, but I'm curious if you could be convinced to return to the site as an active member? If not, how come? Thanks. Procyon 15:32, 14 January 2016 (UTC)

Hi Procyon, thanks for your message!
StrategyWiki is an awesome resource and I visit the site frequently even if I don't always log in (and make edits). I'll be more than happy to help you folks out with everything and anything related to the MediaWiki software, its skins and extensions, but I don't think I can reasonably promise you anything beyond that.
ShoutWiki and the related MediaWiki stuff, together with my various offline duties, takes up plenty of my time, and therefore I'm unable to promise things like "I'll write N articles/words/etc. a week/a month/..."; but as said, if there's something that needs my attention, ping me here or on IRC (further details can be found on my MediaWiki.org user page) and I'll be sure to check it out! --Jack Phoenix (Contact) 14:10, 15 January 2016 (UTC)
