Welcome to StrategyWiki![edit]

Hello Namcorules's New Account! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the StrategyWiki Guide. If you have a question about the content on this wiki, you can check out our staff lounge page. If you want to ask questions or hang out in IRC, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the community portal talk page. Please remember to sign your name on, and only on, talk pages by clicking Wikisigbutton.png or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Finally, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field as this helps to document all of your hard work. Feel free to delete this message from your talk page if you like, or keep it for reference. Happy editing! -- DrBob (talk) 01:30, 8 January 2008 (CST)

Use of Staff Lounge[edit]

The purpose of the Staff Lounge is not to ask questions about game play, but rather to ask for assistance in constructing guides, or to ask questions about the more difficult aspects of Wiki markup. I assure you that no one is going to know the answer to your question, and no one who would know the answer is going to think to look in Staff Lounge to answer it for you. The appropriate place to ask such questions is in the Talk page for the respective game that you are concerned with. While it is still unlikely that someone will know the answer to your question, that page has a better chance of being looked at by someone who might be able to answer you. Getting your old account back[edit]

If you'd like, I can attempt to get your old account back (read: I can attempt to bug someone else to reset your password). However, I'll require some form of proof that you and the original Namcorules are indeed the same account, as well as an email address that the new password can be sent to. Come onto IRC if you have any questions. --Skizzerz_Scissors.png Safety Skizzerz {{ Talk | Contribs | Spel Chek™ | VFG | RTFM }} 16:22, 8 January 2008 (CST)

You need improvement.[edit]

When I woke up this morning to work on the site, I had not anticipated the fact that I would need to completely overhaul the mess that you made of the Warp and Warp guide. Did you even bother to look at the Warpman guide to see if there were resources that you could reuse? Clearly you did not, because you uploaded a slew of images (of poor quality, I might add) that already existed on the site. You have been a member here for quite some time, and yet you show absolutely no growth in your skill as a Wiki editor. While many members of the site have evolved in their usage of standards and templates, your work remains nearly the same as it was when you first started, which points to a distinct lack of effort on your part to study other guides and get a feel for what other people are doing to improve their work. Among the mistakes that you routinely make are:

  • Uploading large sized photographic images (such as arcade control panels and flyers) as PNG files when they are clearly better suited as compressed JPG files. PNG files are usually reserved for sprites, not photos.
  • Uploading unusually small sprites with little to no enhancement, making them unfortunately difficult for the reader to see. Compare your work to, say, The_Legend_of_Zelda/Enemies, Gradius/Enemies, and Super_Mario_Bros./Enemies. These are just a few examples of many pages that enhance the sprites to be larger and more visible so that the reader can actually appreciate them instead of needing to squint their eyes at the screen to see them.
  • Continuing with the abandoned use of the page name "Elements." All other guides have switched to "How to play."
  • Little to no follow through with the rest of your guides beyond explaining the elements of the game. I don't believe that I have ever seen you write a walkthrough, although I may have missed one.

Now, granted, you are under no obligation to do any of these things. Since a wiki is a collaborative effort on the part of multiple people, one could argue that you are at least establishing a base foundation from which someone else could expand into a full guide. But very little of what you contribute can remain as is, and typically requires reworking on someone else's part, which means your current quality of contributions has a negligible effect on the site as a whole. There are many games that I have to get around to, but I always figure in the back of my mind that when the time comes for me to work on a guide that you have started, I will typically have to dismantle most of it and start from scratch. I hope that after reading this, there will be an improvement of quality in your efforts on StrategyWiki. Thank you. Procyon (Talk) 09:33, 9 January 2008 (CST)

Requesting Permission to Replace Graphics in Phozon's Getting Started Page[edit]

Speedy1sonicboy (talk) 19:39, 1 February 2019 (UTC)I made a few .gif files from scratch of the Phozon sprites, and I was wondering if it was okay for me to drop those on the page instead of the still pictures.

Any feedback will be happily taken and used!
