Hey, Got Some News[edit]

Hey Procyon, it's been a bit since we last spoke. After all the hours I put into Tower of Druaga I finally decided to make my first Youtube video about the "Darkness Tower" and soon "Another Tower" since there were literally no videos on them whatsoever (and as far as I can tell only one based on the original arcade game). I thought you might want to check it out since it was your guide that got me to the point where I could make the video. I gave you credit for the guide as I included a miniature version of it so people knew what I was doing in each part. I only posted it yesterday. Was my first time using the camcorder so I didn't know about the auto brightness adjust or the slant despite it sitting flat, but my "Another Tower" video will have those fixed. The link is http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KlIpo8kkKOI and thanks again for all your hard work on this game. --PrinceGilgamesh 08:15, 14 August 2010 (UTC)

RE: Edit Summaries[edit]

Hey Procyon, its PrinceGilgamesh. My apologies, I'm still new to using wiki and didn't know it was more appreciated to give more extensive information. I've just been playing this game for quite a bit now and wanted to update things for future users. I see from the talk below that you were the one who probably made up most of that guide? If so, I wasn't trying to offend you in any way. If I can change the summary information I will gladly add more info. Fellow Druaga fan, PrinceGilgamesh 21:07, 1 June 2010 (EST)

I didn't realize you could continue until today. The whole time I was trying to climb back up to floor 28. So now that I could continue from floor 28 to figure out the command, its that a roper must cross you and the door at the same time. 01:05, 9 June 2010 (EST)

Additions[edit]

Hey Procyon, ReyVGM here. I've emailed you before about Tower of Druaga information but you never replied. I guess you must have changed emails. I'll just drop the info here then for future reference:

I played the Sharp X1 and MSX ports of Tower of Druaga and the solutions are NOT the same for those games. The first few levels work the same, but not the advanced ones. The MSX version also appears to have a new enemy type according to a Japanese page I found.

I also have something for the Famicom/MSX2 Ganbare Goemon! Karakuri Dōchū. On your guide you group them both together, but the MSX2 version actually has a ton more levels that the Famicom version doesn't. You see, on the Fami version, when you beat the game, you go to a new province/district of Japan (8 in all), but all the levels remain the same. You still get a different ending per district though. Now, on the MSX2 version, when you finish the game, you go to the next district/province (7 in all), but the levels are completely different. There are actually 48 original levels in all. You get a different ending per province too. -Unsigned

Reason to remove compilation versions for games?[edit]

I think its helpful to know about all the versions, and systems. Since there are differences between them. IE. Ms. Pac-Man --Negative1 00:51, 15 March 2010 (UTC)

About the enchanted enhanced sprites[edit]

Hello there. I wanted to ask you something. About the enchanted sprites used in some of the articles, (such as for the Pac-Man article) How do you create them? Superjustinbros. 23:39, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Procyon's method has been ported to a script (SCM script) for use in the GIMP raster graphics program. File:2Dimage-3Dimage.txt has information on how to use the script. — najzereT 23:49, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Lol, I refer to them as "enhanced," not "enchanted"... I actually left a tutorial on a Aniki21's user talk page, so you can check it out there if you like. BTW Naj, I upgraded to GIMP 2.6, but still had problems with the script-fu. The Gradiant control never shows up in the dialog, and I can't figure out why. Furthermore, when I try to run it, it complains about too few parameters (I suspect the gradiant parameter is missing since it doesn't show on the dialog.) Procyon 02:20, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Hey[edit]

Sorry about categorizing Dragon Slayer IV – I didn't see the cat on the redirect until afterwards, and then I edit conflicted with you trying to take it out. :P Also, I'll check on that GIMP script tonight. It was working as far as I know, but I've made some additions to it anyway, so I'll just get the new version up. Cheers, — najzereT 18:42, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I finally got around to copying over the script from my old computer and it works fine for me in GIMP 2.6.8 in Windows 7 (it also worked for me in whatever version of GIMP I was using in XP). .scm is no longer an acceptable file type, so I can't upload the newer version. You can download it here: direct d/l. I added feathering for the border and some behind-the-scenes stuff, so let me know if it works for you. — najzereT 09:17, 14 January 2010 (UTC)

hey can i edit again[edit]

hello, it's me again “THE KING OF ALL GAMES” and it's been 6 months and i've gained so much game info and i've learned my lesson about how to put things in the right place and youtube videos so can i please edit again?

(76.173.127.3 21:55, 21 January 2010 (UTC))

Since you asked nicely, I have removed your block. It will expire one hour from now. However, if you give any of the sysops any reason to block you, such as not listening to their instructions, or spamming their talk page with useless information, I will not undo the block again. You only get one chance. Don't disturb other users unless it's necessary, and don't contribute content unless its absolutely relevant to the guide you are contributing to. Ultimately, the one who will decide whether you get to edit or not is you. Hundreds of other users have no problem following the directions, so it's not impossible. Good luck. Double Dribble[edit]

Opa Opa!
Opa Opa!
A little thank you…
For bringing back memories of one of my favorite SMS games, Fantasy Zone.
Cheers, najzereT 23:37, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I noted a discrepancy between the date for the FDS on the Double Dribble page (July 24) and the one on the Exciting Basket redirect page (July 27). Just wanted to bring it to your attention. Cheers :) — najzereT 18:00, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the amazing catch Naj! ;) Procyon 18:35, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Using Thumbnails.[edit]

I really admire the beauty of the N64 button thumbnails you have on this website. I was wondering if I could use them for a youtube video I am making. If you give me permission, and I use them, I assure you that I will credit you as the source of the thumbnails used (or someone else if they did the work), and will even direct people who watch my video to check out Strategywiki.org. Is that okay?

All non-game specific images on this site are contributed to this site under a copyleft license, originally GFDL, and currently CC-BY-SA. Therefore, you are free to utilize images from this site provided you adhere to the rules that govern those licenses, which stipulates that the original authors of such images be given credit wherever they are used. Your offer to redirect traffic back to this site is entirely optional, but would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Procyon 14:33, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Art of Fighting 2 edits[edit]

Hi, can you check on a new user's contributions to move lists? I can't find any mention of the moves he's adding, but before I call bullshit on him I wanted to check in. I'll leave the appropriate welcome message to you. Thanks! — najzereT 17:36, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I took a look at them... you did the right thing. The guy was just adding existing moves under alternative names, and don't get me started about that rambling he added to one of the character pages... Procyon 00:53, 7 March 2010 (UTC)

Fighter Portraits[edit]

Hey Procyon, about those images I found them all over, but mainly The Fighter's Generation and The Street Fighter Wiki. (BackLash 23:32, 17 March 2010 (UTC))

Fist of the North Star buttons[edit]

Hi, I was wondering about these buttons: Arcade-Atomis-A.png Arcade-Atomis-B.png Arcade-Atomis-C.png Arcade-Atomis-D.png Arcade-Atomis-E.png. Are these only ever going to be used on the Fist of the North Star (arcade) guide? Should they be replaced by normal control images or put into a control template? I want to categorize them, but thought I'd find out what they're going to be used for first. Thanks, — najzereT 19:10, 19 March 2010 (UTC)

So you're the guy...[edit]

...who's made all these cool Famicom/FDS guides. I always wondered who did most of these, as they are so well done with maps and pics and so forth. They remind me of Zach Meston's books he put out in the 90s for beating games. Very informative and easy to follow.

Thanks a ton for all of them, the ones I've used have been amazing. Any chance you'll do one for the FDS game Monty no Doki Doki Daisassou?

Game Capture?[edit]

I realise this is going back a long time, but why does Aigina no Yogen/Walkthrough use "Game Capture" instead of "Quick Walkthrough" or the like? Is this terminology used in the game or something? --Garrett (talk) 08:36, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

You are right Garrett, "Quick Walkthrough" would be more appropriate for the heading. "Game Capture" came about by me being too literal with the Japanese translation from Google. :) Procyon 14:03, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

Walkthrough redirects[edit]

I went through all the walkthrough page redirects and only found one that has you in the history: ASO: Armored Scrum Object/Walkthrough. You may also be interested in Pac-Man Plus/Walkthrough, as it seems you wrote the guide. Cheers, — najzereT 16:26, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

Thanks For Editing Tips[edit]

It's Dana. I've been updating the Lady Bug game play tips as I proofread it. And thanks to whoever put it as the entire WalkThrough section; wasn't expecting that. Anyways, I will consider using the tips you gave me if I do any more updates. Thanks a bunch!--Dana MC 06:23, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

Genpei Tōma Den/Strategies and Genpei Tōma Den/Tips have been marked for deletion...[edit]

...as they have been merged with the Walkthrough I have been working on over the last fortnight. Unused redirect Genpei Tōma Den/Elements should also be another page intended for the trash can. By the way, I've been meaning to ask you - why did you remove my warnings to German readers on the walkthrough page for Phozon? Namcorules 14:30, 13 June 2010 (UTC)

Re: SMB Items[edit]

Sorry about the confusion over the items. I was working on a device with a smaller screen at the time, and all I saw was where someone before me had (rather badly) wrote an "Items" paragraph. I was simply trying to fix this paragraph up, and did not see the better-written table. I thought it was rather odd that there were no links to pictures, but I see now what happened. Thank you from pointing this out and from saving StrategyWiki users from some confusion.--Mnm3808 17:16, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

Bounty[edit]

I won! Really?? =D I can finally get Red Dead Redemption! ^_^ Thanks, you're the awesomest. BTW, I hate to ask questions, but where's the e-mail link? O_o --E-123Wario54The Temple of TalkFFI black mage (8-bit).gif 06:53, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Bounties Prize[edit]

Hey thanks for the prize. I just stumbled onto this site when looking for some info on Torchlight, and here I am a few weeks later, getting a prize! Awesome! Thanks to you and all the other contributors for putting this site together. I'm just learning how to do this, but hope to do more once I figure it all out. BTW, I can't find the "Email This User" link on your toolbox either. Bigbank 08:25, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

Bounties[edit]

Wait, what? :O I won money? That's awesome! :D Thanks! I still have to edit more to get the hang of this, but where's the link? --Rubberyducksryellow13 21:35, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

180s and 360s[edit]

Hey quick question isn't there a playstation 180 and 360 button image? If so where? I can't find it. KimbleTHEcommie 16:34, 14 October 2010 (CDT)

Rename a page thats already made?[edit]

How do i rename a page that i already made? Whenever i rename it it say page doesnt exist. I want to change God of War: Chains of Olympus/Bonus Costumes to Bonus. Any hints? KimbleTHEcommie 21:07, 14 October 2010 (CDT)

New Fist of the North Star[edit]

Hey, I don't understand the series nav for Hokuto no Ken. Where would the new FotNS game go? It's for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, if that helps. EDIT: Or maybe it's a Dynasty Warriors game? I dunno. — najzereT 16:31, 16 October 2010 (CDT)

Ugh, that is... that is just ugly... I'm not sure to be honest with you, the whole thing could stand to be touched up. The new game definitely is a combo of FotNS and DW. So I really don't know how to classify it. Frankly, that whole template is hardly divided up well, so if you just threw it on at the end of the first list, I don't think anyone would care or complain. Probably the break down on Wikipedia would be the best way to reorganize the template. Procyon 19:14, 17 October 2010 (CDT)

Thank you![edit]

I apprecaite pointing me at those guides. I actually just figured out what the star and other signets next to a guides name meant. I think I might have figured it out eventually, if you had not pointed me there, but you saved me running up against the learning cliff I posses hehe. I will definately try to keep to the common format, I do not want to reinvent the wheel.

Look forward to working with you all.--Cypherwulfe 11:35, 1 November 2010 (CDT)

Sorry to you too...[edit]

I see. The message might of went the wrong way.. But I assure you I do not care about my ego. I wish to say I am sorry for I have given a bad first impression in favor of all of Pikmin Fanon. Listen. I was being a jerk for saying that. I was already feeling bad about Pikmin Fanon's inclusion in NIWA, and I saw that it was not there and It made me angry. I had no reason to say that, and I hope I can mend the relationship between Pikmin Fanon and Strategy Wiki. Peanut64

Job[edit]

I know he's doing a good job; I just wanted to make sure he's aware of a good argument to do 4-6 before 4-5. When writing a walkthrough, it makes the most sense to put everything in a logical order. Putting 4-5 before 4-6 will let everyone think 4-5 is a more logical level to do before 4-6. SMB3 fan 16:07, 28 December 2010 (CST)
