Welcome back[edit]

Glad to see you've returned after a long absence. The site can definitely use some more Intellivision love :) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Procyon (talkcontribs) .

Hey, thanks! I've been meaning to resume that Tower of Doom project for some time. :) Silverspell (talk) 04:51, 26 April 2014 (UTC)

Image categorization[edit]

When uploading images, please make sure to categorise them using the correct image categories and the guide-specific category, i.e. [[Category:Game Name images]]. Please see our image policy for more details. Thanks for helping to keep our images neat! Paco (talk) 08:23, 26 April 2014 (UTC)

In this case, all you need to do is add [[Category:Tower of Doom images]] into the description of the monster sprites you uploaded. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 17:51, 26 April 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for doing that, Notmyhandle. I have to admit, the uploading protocols are a bit confusing -- especially the Upload Wizard, for uploading multiple files at once, which seems to force me to select a license (and also had a mysterious language menu that included over a dozen options, but not English). I hope I've done things correctly this time around, but if the CC licenses need to be stripped, let me know. Silverspell (talk) 22:57, 26 April 2014 (UTC)
Yeah the Upload Wizard is an extension that was only implemented partially when our old multi-upload extension broke. It has not been tweaked to our standards, and I have never used it so I can't give you any advice on that. I have always uploaded each file individually by hand and I use a generic description for the type of image I am using so I can copy and paste from one to the next. If Prod (talk · contribs) or Procyon (talk · contribs) cleanup the extension and remove the license/summary sections I would be more inclined to use it. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 16:55, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

"conjectural"[edit]

Thank you for using 'conjectural' in some of your explanation sentences. I have never seen it used that way, but it is a perfect definition in these cases. I often use 'arbitrary', instead, but I think 'conjectural' is more accurate. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 18:36, 30 April 2014 (UTC)

Hey, thanks! It seemed like a good choice for this game -- especially since we can probably infer a great deal of overlap between the items and (especially) monsters and their AD&D equivalents, given that this was originally going to be a licensed game. Silverspell (talk) 19:47, 30 April 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, that's a really good example of where fairly accurate naming schemes can be implemented. I usually end up making stuff up, like for the boss of the game in Mega Man X/Sigma Stage 4...
Spoiler

Sigma Velgauder Bot is just Sigma + Velgauder, and upgraded. I guess I could change it to literally "Sigma + Velgauder", but it doesn't matter.
