Welcome to StrategyWiki![edit]

Hello Uglyface86! Welcome to StrategyWiki. Thank you for your contributions. If you have any questions, just contact a sysop through their talk page or post on the staff lounge, and they'd be happy to help. If you need help editing, check the StrategyWiki Guide or visit the IRC channel to chat, we're usually around. On the other hand, if you have ideas for StrategyWiki, bring them up on the forums. To keep up-to-date with the goings on of the wiki, consider adding the noticeboard to your watchlist.

Please remember to sign your name when leaving comments on talk pages by clicking Wikisigbutton.png or using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to delete this message from your talk page if you like, or keep it for reference. Happy editing! — Moydow T · C 14:08, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

Easier editing[edit]

The Show preview button (right next to the Save page button) lets you see how your changes will look before saving the page. You can use Show preview as many times as you like until you get the page how you want it. You can also edit the whole page at one time, as opposed to by section, by clicking the Edit tab at the top of the page. Hopefully these little shortcuts will make it easier for you to get the desired result when you're editing, and save you a little time. Thanks for working on the wiki! — Moydow T · C 14:08, 28 July 2010 (UTC)

Info after the big bang/legend patches[edit]

Hi Uglyface,

If you see a significant change altered by the big bang/legend patches, and the change has been applied to all versions, feel free to remove any old information. We have an easy way for people too look up old information at the bottom of this page: http://strategywiki.org/wiki/MapleStory/Major_updates#Pre-Big_Bang_pages

Thank you, --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 17:58, 31 May 2012 (UTC)

Make sure that if a version is not as up to date as the one you play on, that you keep that information but make it clear that it only applies to that version... understand? --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 17:58, 31 May 2012 (UTC)

When adding a new page, make sure to include the {{Header Nav}} at the top and {{Footer Nav}} at the bottom. Also, add the page to a good section (or a new section) on the table of contents. If you mess up, one of us will help fix it. =) --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 17:18, 4 June 2012 (UTC)

I forgot to say, when you go to a new page, such as NEWPAGE (do not create that), you will notice 4 little squares above the text box where you edit the page. These are page template; if you click on the "Guide page" one (second from the left) it will insert the Header and Footer navs for you! --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 04:26, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
MS/Walkthrough

We can't remove this page, as it is included on every MapleStory page in the Header nav. It might be better to redirect it to the getting started page, where people actually begin... What do you think? What would be the best page to redirect to? --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 16:40, 5 June 2012 (UTC)

Page deletions[edit]

If you want a page deleted just put {{Delete|Reason}} on the page. We can delete your user page if you really don't want the content saved here. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 00:51, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

Since you said you wanted to start over in your deletion request, I just blanked it for you. You can start over whenever you want, but that is where your user page is, so deleting it isn't going to help unless you really don't want anything there and you want a red link in your signature. Cheers, — Najzere · Talk 15:25, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

MapleStory town updates[edit]

Your to-do mentions that you're updating the town pages. One thing I've been wanting to do for the guide for a long time is get rid of all availability information from the specific pages, and stick to the actual information about the locations, as the availability info is already available in the charts. Do you think you would be able to clean that out as you go? -- Prod (talk) 02:03, 23 June 2012 (UTC)

When removing images from a page, you need to go to the actual file and add {{delete|Unused}} to the file so we will know to delete it. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 17:24, 26 June 2012 (UTC)

MapleStory info missions[edit]

Hi Uglyface, I was wondering if you would be interested in gathering some specific information for the MapleStory guide. If I were to tell you what we need, in small "missions", could you go out and look for it? I no longer have the game and do not have time to run around and take screenshots/verify things. At first, I'm just looking for NPC info. Also, do you play on GMS? --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 17:43, 25 June 2012 (UTC)

MapleStory images[edit]

There is quite alot Unused Images for MapleStory. Can you look in it and see what can be used and what need to be deleted? Thank you for your help. ^^ Paco (talk) 14:27, 20 August 2012 (UTC)

If you find an image that needs to be renamed to match the actual GMS monster name, let me know so I can move the file. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 21:06, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

Date syntax/English grammar[edit]

It doesn't matter. Both are valid. December 5 has two less characters, so it is more "efficient" in terms of optimizing the page size, but again, it's pretty negligible. I would probably put December 5th if I was updating the page. Since it's up to preference, in this case, I've been fine with whatever you and other people have been using. Feel free to standardize them all in the same way. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 20:53, 4 December 2012 (UTC)

Don't forget[edit]

To sign your posts on talk pages with ~~~~. --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 17:03, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

Dragon Warrior/Zen[edit]

This page naming scheme needs to be adjusted. We don't use slashes in normal page names. A parentheses would be okay, but really it comes down to what the class' name is, not the character. At the bottom left, above the Lv., does it show Dragon Warrior, or Zen? --Notmyhandle (talk contribs) 17:45, 13 December 2012 (UTC)
