Easier editing[edit]
The Show preview button (right next to the Save page button) lets you see how your changes will look before saving the page. You can use Show preview as many times as you like until you get the page how you want it. You can also edit the whole page at one time, as opposed to by section, by clicking the Edit tab at the top of the page. Hopefully these little shortcuts will make it easier for you to get the desired result when you're editing, and save you a little time. Image uploads[edit]
Please see our policy on image naming and categorization. For consistency and ease of use throughout the wiki, image names should contain the name of the game or its abbreviation and a one or two word description. All images also need the appropriate categories added, as well as the guide-specific image category (e.g. [[Category:Game Name images]]). - Hi, can I ask you to look at the Policy on image categorisation? You uploaded some images for the MapleStory guide, which appeared to be icons, so I've added that category and Category:MapleStory skill images to the images. In future, can you please add the equivalent categories to any images you add? For example, a screenshot of a skill would go in Category:MapleStory skill images and Category:Screenshots. Category system[edit]
The image categorisation system is used to keep all images for a certain game in one place, where anyone who needs them can find them. For example, if you needed an image for Super Mario 64, you would look in Category:Super Mario 64 images. On the other hand, if you want to upload an image from Super Mario 64, you would type [[Category:Super Mario 64 images]] into the description box. But, you must also use a category that sorts by type of image. For example, the icons you uploaded for MapleStory go into Category:Icons. A screenshot goes into Category:Screenshots, characters in Category:Characters, and so on. The Image policy page has a list of these types of categories. (Category:Guide-specific images isn't used on images, so leave that one out.) Basically, when uploading an image, it needs at least two categories: the game category and the main image category. - Hi, you're starting to learn how the categories work. But just one thing: to place an image in a category, put the name of the category between two square brackets. Copy this into the description box (but not from this page's edit box): [[Category:MapleStory skill images]]
- Also, you don't have to re-upload the image to fix a wrong category. Just click the 'Edit' tab at the top of the screen to edit it like a guide page. Another category is also required: for an icon, like you're uploading, put in the following: [[Category:Icons]]

- Good, I'm finally getting somewhere with these categories.. anyways, thanks for catching my back with these. Still kind of confused a little bit when it comes to what category applies to an image. What happened with triple blow was simply trial an error. I managed to figure it out eventually though. Also when adding the categories, does the bar on the bottom of the image screen appear automatically after a few minutes or is it something I'm doing wrong? User:Zienth
- No problem, glad to help. The last few images you've uploaded have been done perfectly. There are a few categories used alongside the game category, used to separate images into types. Icons go in Category:Icons, screenshots in Category:Screenshots, boxart in Category:Box artwork, character art in Category:Characters, and items in Category:Items. Images that can't be sorted go in Category:Artwork. Those are the main ones. The bar at the bottom of the screen (Categories:...) appears if categories have been added correctly. Blue links if a category exists, red if it doesn't. On an unrelated topic: when signing your name, use four tildes (~~~~) to automatically create a link to your userpage, and a timestamp. No more undoing Spadow's translations[edit]
Zienth, please refrain from rolling back Spadow's translations. I don't care what web translation engine you are pumping the Korean through, Spadow is a native speaker of Korean, and therefore is more qualified to provide translations than you are. If I see you reverting his translations again, you will face a ban for a short period of time. MapleStory/Patches[edit]
The charts on that page are shown by what is called a transclusion: if you want to edit them, you need to go to another page, the title of which is inside the curly brackets { } (make sure to put Template: before the title if you search for it. For example, to edit the Jobs chart, you need to go to Template:MapleStory/Versions/Jobs and edit it there. Let me know if you get stuck. Moydow T · C 22:36, 28 June 2010 (UTC)

alright, just wanted to let u know if u go 2 big bang>skills, then to builds, the previous page button will link u to a page i made.
previous page from "builds" is a page i made of the resistance's skills, then going to previous page once more, brings u to legends... and so on. I finished a page with the skills for resistance, legends, cygnus, thieves, and bowman.
Just have to do magicians and warriors... thats gonna b borring...

I've seen you doing some of the updates to the MapleStory pages for big bang, and I'm looking for someone to work with to properly merge in/clean up all the info. Are you on IM client? I've redone the MapleStory/Formulas page. I'll probably add some info about criticals and mastery skills tomorrow. However, I mostly made up what's in the Experience section. Do you know any of the specifics? Can you confirm/deny anything there? MapleStory Jobs ToC[edit]
Just saw your changes to the Jobs header ToC section, and I'm not sure it works out too well on most pages. The mini-headers are supposed to just be a supplement to help speed things up a bit, not take up that much of the screen (which is why most of it is hidden away).
