The main characters of the game are the following:

Joshua[edit]

The protagonist of the game (you can choose his name at the beginning), he is only 13 years of age when the story begins, a farmer's son in the village of Polata. An orphan at young age, his parents died in a squabble with nobles and thus he is raised by his Uncle Kordif. Due to the mayor's progressive education system he was allowed to socialise with Adele, a member of the aristocracy. They became extremely good friends bordering on romance. However, the two also often end up arguing, due to their social differences. After losing his adoptive family, he becomes a vagabond, leading a wild life. Only after meeting Baron Pratau he will understand that he can do better in life.

Adele[edit]

Adele was the chatelaine of the House of Byron, laird of the Polata village. She struggles to accept her status as a noble, because it prevents her from hanging out with other boys.Although she spent a lot of her childhood with Joshua, circumstances resulted in their parting. In her adult life she was manipulated by a religious cult to become their head public figure.

Rosaly[edit]

She is Kordif's daughter and the hero's adoptive sister, of whom she is very fond. She would do anything to see him happy. On a couple of occasions at the beginning of the game, you can also use her in battle.

Clive[edit]

The hero's childhood friend, he is a sturdy boy, son of the owner of the local tavern. Extroverted and enterprising, he often accompanies the hero on his adventures and is secretly in love with Rosaly. You can also use him in battle, but only during the prologue and sometimes as an addition to your army late in the game.

Yuri[edit]

Another childhood friend of the hero. Yuri is the exact opposite of Clive: frail, shy and very intelligent, with great faith. A great religious scholar, he aspires to become an emissary of the church. As with Clive, he will only be available in battle in the prologue and as an "external helper" in some later battles.

Nicola[edit]

Nicola is a skilled and mysterious wandering swordsman who the hero meets for the first time during adolescence. Seemingly wise, courageous and kind-hearted, he easily wins the hero's trust. As events unfold, however, he will reveal himself to be a very different person. He too will be available from time to time in battle, as an external helper.

Pratau[edit]

Baron Pratau is an elderly nobleman who aspires to end the war and bring peace to Natra. He meets the hero while he is living as a wanderer. The hero is initially skeptical and grumpy towards him. Over time, however, Pratau becomes a guide for him and will give a new purpose to his life. After their first meeting, he will always fight alongside the hero.

Cardinal Ladorak[edit]

Ladorak is an ambitious cardinal, head of the church state of Nirvadia and more interested in power and fame than religion. After having assassinated the king of Natra with the complicity of Queen Mother Agatha and breaking the alliance with her, he aspires to unify Natra and Nirvavia into a single nation and become its leader.

Jacob[edit]

Jacob is Cardinal Ladorak's minion and leader of the Blood Knights. A violent and unscrupulous warrior. His loyalty to the cardinal, who saved him from a difficult past, is absolute. He blindly follows his orders and is willing to give his life to defend him.

Queen Mother Agatha[edit]

A real Black Widow, who after having murdered King Lagore with the complicity of Ladorak and imprisoned the legitimate heir to the throne, made an alliance with the emperor of Zora-Archeo, in order to bring her daughter and the son of the emperor to the throne of Natra. However, the two young princes are only puppets in her hands, in reality she herself holds the power.

Godard the Diviner[edit]

Member of an ancient and obscure religious order, Godard is a mysterious character who weaves his dark plots in the shadows, without ever siding with any of the powers at play, exploiting them to his advantage. Over the course of the game, it is progressively revealed what his truly terrible intentions are.
