WL4 level icon Golden Diva.png
  • Name: Golden Diva
  • Location: Golden Pyramid
  • Life: 20
  • Weakness: None
  • Time: (Normal/Hard/Super Hard) 6:00/5:00/4:00
  • Treasure Time: (all modes) 2:00

Appearance[edit]

The Golden Diva has an appearance similar to that of a Chinese Woman, with white face paint, a fan and a green dress with a red overcoat. She is a ghost with only a ghostly tail in place of her legs. She wears all of the treasures acquired from the previous bosses. The crown from Cractus, the bracelets from Catbat, the earrings from Cuckoo Condor and the necklace from Aerodent. As she takes damage, she takes on more grotesque faces.

Strategy[edit]

Intro[edit]

Before the battle and after the Golden Diva descends, Princess Shokora (in her cat form) will try to attack the Diva, only to be sucked into her. If you have bought items from the shop, it will be revealed that the shop guy is Shokora herself, and the item will only reduce the rotation time in Phase Two.

Phase One[edit]

At this point, four ghostly faces will appear around the Diva as she uses her fan to cover her real face. The objective is to ground pound each face as it is thrown at you, pick them up and power throw them up at the Diva. If Wario comes into contact with a face when he is not ground pounding, the face will carry him to the top of the screen for a few seconds. This doesn't hurt, but it does waste valuable time. This can be especially bothersome on Perfect Ending runs. Throwing the faces into the Golden Diva four times will bring the fight to next phase.

Phase Two[edit]

She will use several attacks in rotation.

  • Green Object: The Golden Diva will let loose a spiky green projectile that flies back and forth across the stage, similar to one of the Hoggus painting monsters. By jumping on it, it is rendered harmless and can be thrown up at the Diva.
  • Blue Ball: The Golden Diva throws a heavy ball with a teddy bear on it onto the stage. It explodes if left too long. Tackle it to send it flying and damage the Diva if she gets in its path.
  • Black Egg: Almost identical to the Cuckoo Condor, the Diva throws out a Black Egg that releases an exploding chick if it hits the ground. Grab it before it touches the ground and power throw it or bounce it back into the Diva to damage her.
  • Spiky Hammer: The Diva throws out a hammer covered in spikes that dissipate after a while. Throwing it up onto Wario will turn him into Spring Wario, who can bounce up at the Diva to inflict damage.

After taking some damage, the Diva will increase her frequency and randomness of using above attacks.

Phase Three[edit]

After the Diva is down to four blocks of health, she will stop attacking and take on a more grotesque appearance. She will now start to slam and destroy the ground, leaving behind spikes in its place. She may do this until you have no ground left to stand on, so take her out fast. You can do this by luring her to land on the spikes, then jump-attacking her head. Whenever the Diva slams the ground, jump to avoid being shaken. After three attacks, the Diva will degenerate to a pair of lips and will stop attacking. One more attack and the Diva will be defeated and Shokora will be released.

Endings[edit]

Wario Land 4 has multiple endings, depending on how many chests were saved at the end. Similar to the previous bosses, as time ticks away, a chest will disappear, with no chests being left at all in the last couple of seconds. Whichever ending is achieved at the end will impact how Shokora appears at the end.

  • All 12 chests = Best Ending, Shokora appears as a beautiful, young princess.
  • 11 to 5 Chests= Good Ending, Shokora appears as a beautiful, albeit slightly more generic princess.
  • 4 to 2 Chests= Bad Ending, Shokora appears as a hideous, stout woman who bears a resemblance to a female Wario.
  • 1 or no Chests = Worst Ending, Shokora appears as a bratty child.

In any ending, Wario will escape the crumbling Golden Pyramid with the cat Shokora and whatever (if any) haul of treasure he has collected at the end. After Wario and Shokora watch and laugh as the Pyramid crumbles, the four treasures transform Shokora back into whatever human form she has, dependent on the amount of treasure that is gathered at the end. She will kiss Wario (with his reactions varying from ending to ending) before four Cherubs come and extract her as Wario looks on in awe. He then gets up, grabs the bag of treasure (if applicable) and sets off.

Credits[edit]

As the credits roll, Wario looks over the horizon as images of his adventure flash up on the horizon. Each treasure chest gives one image, and there will be extra images in higher difficulties. In the credits, Wario will drive a different vehicle, depending on the difficulty setting.

  • Normal = The Wario Car
  • Hard = A pick-up truck
  • Super Hard = A futuristic hover-car.

After the credits roll, the same scene of Wario driving off from the beginning will play out with a white cat in place of the black one at the beginning. The newspaper that blows into the cat's face this time has the headline "STEAKS! EAT AS MUCH AS YOU CAN!" giving a humorous insight as to why Wario wanted the treasure in the first place. "THE END" then appears on screen. You can use the same save file where the bosses of four passages will be revived and the Golden Pyramid will be sealed again.

If you beat the game in Hard mode, and loot all 12 treasure crates from Golden Diva, you will be able to start the game in Super Hard mode.
