A lake, a water dragon, and pirates[edit]

There are many passages throughout this map which connects the left side to the right side. The first floor is divided into 4 large blocks. The upper right block is distinct from the rest. In this block, you'll find a fortress of pirates.

There are three moats in total around this fort. When trying to break into this area, there is a message at the entrance (1, 17): "Beware of the Moat Monsters". From here, go around the perimeter of the fort. You will encounter monsters called the Moat Monster. It's quite strong with high HP and attack power. You'll want to learn MAHALITO before you try this fight. Getting your HP over 30 will also help. If possible, consider rising to level 5 near the entrance. Moat Monsters appear in the same place. They won't attack twice from the same place, so remember where you fought them when trying to return.

You can invade the fort from the door on the opposite side. The enemies that appear in this area are mainly the four types of Garian enemies (Guard, Mage, Priest, and Raider), as well as regular encounters.

In the innermost grand hall of the pirate fortress, the pirate bosses, the High Corsair and the Garian Captain are waiting. Their HP is extremely high for first floor encounters, so you'll want to use a wide range of magic such as KATINO, MATU, and BAMATU. Beyond this are the stairs to the 2nd floor and 3rd floor. However, a trap located at (19, 15) will return you to the castle, so don't enter by mistake.

The light blue tiles in the map for the lower left area is a lake. In order to cross here, you need a "Ship in a Bottle" to get on the 4th or 5th floor. If you attempt to cross without the ship, you will drown.

Throughout the floor, you will find a number of chests, most of which are easy to disarm. They usually contain armor and weapons.
