You can save the game and cure your wounds in the town

After defeating Meka, you find yourself in a small town. The town consists of a hospital, two shops, one door leading to a beach, one door leading to a desert, and a church. Doors with a blue window are usually shops or no-way-out rooms. Regular doors lead you elsewhere.

You're standing in front of the church, where you can save the game.

Getting the first heart container[edit]

Head to the left and enter the tower through the bottom door. Head to the right and down the hole, then to the right. Open the chest to claim the first Wonder Boy III The Dragon's Trap - Heart Container.png Heart Container. Now make your way back outside. See that locked door on the tower? You need to get in there, but you have to go get the Wonder Boy III The Dragon's Trap - Key.png Key first.

Getting the key to the tower[edit]

Duck to hit the crabs

Head back to the right and enter the bottom door in the building to the left of the church. Jump down the well, then head right and up the stairs. Continue to the right and jump across the platforms. You're now on the beach. You need to duck to hit crabs. Don't go in the ocean just yet if you can help it, as the things down there are harder to do in your current state. When you reach a little house ignore it and keep going right. Eventually you will reach a wooden hull upside down. A cloud will appear and drop bombs. If you have the Wonder Boy III The Dragon's Trap - Arrow.png Arrow or Wonder Boy III The Dragon's Trap - Thunder.png Thunder magic you can blast it out of the sky; otherwise just avoid it and head through the door to the far right. Go through the right-hand door and open the chest for a Wonder Boy III The Dragon's Trap - Key.png Key. Now head back to the town.

Getting to the pyramid[edit]

Back in the town, use your key to open the locked door (use the Wonder Boy III The Dragon's Trap - Jump Block.png Jump Block to get up there). Enter the tower, head to the right, then use the two Wonder Boy III The Dragon's Trap - Jump Block.png Jump Blocks and pass the door.

You're now in the desert. Head left. After a while you'll reach a pyramid. Fall into the first well then once inside go through the door to the left. Once through that continue left and up the pyramid. When you reach the Sphinx, slay the enemy there then go in to get the second Wonder Boy III The Dragon's Trap - Heart Container.png Heart Container. Go back outside. Watch out, the enemy has now respawned; jump to avoid his arrow. Go back up the pyramid and this time fall into the well to the right. Head left until you're inside the pyramid itself. Make your way to the top and get the Wonder Boy III The Dragon's Trap - Key.png Key. Use the key on the locked door.

Take this secret passage before falling down

Head left over the floor made of springs (watch out for enemies beneath you). There is an invisible hole between the last two statues. Don't jump in it immediately, rather jump over it and pass through the wall under the stone head. There is a secret room there. Open the chest, take its contents, then exit and go down the hole. You'll end up stuck between two fire heads. Quickly go to the left or right and you'll fall down another hole. You can't access your inventory during boss battle. Before opening the boss' door, you might want to equip the Wonder Boy III The Dragon's Trap - Arrow.png Arrows as they might be useful during battle. Go through the door and prepare to fight the Mummy Dragon.

Second boss: Mummy Dragon[edit]

You now fight the Mummy Dragon. This is a fairly straightforward battle. When the dragon comes towards you, jump and shoot fire in its face. If it's too high duck instead and use the Wonder Boy III The Dragon's Trap - Arrow.png Arrow. It will frequently spit green slime. If you stay directly beneath it, this attack can't hit you, but then get out of the way as it will usually swoop downwards straight after. When you have killed the boss, dodge the Wonder Boy III The Dragon's Trap - Blue Flame.png Flame and take as much money as you can. When the flame touches you, you will become Mouse-Man.

Getting out of the pyramid[edit]

As a Mouse-Man, you are small enough to enter places where you could not before. You can also walk on any wall or ceiling made of Wonder Boy III The Dragon's Trap - Mouse Block.png Mouse-Blocks.

After touching the flame, you will find yourself at the top level of the pyramid. You must now go back to the town. There is a passage inside the pyramid leading directly to the town, so you won't have to cross the desert again. Take the key in the chest (it might be useful to have an extra one), then go down one level. Pay attention to the Gobelin which will shoot an arrow at you. Kill the Gobelin and attach yourself to the ground by jumping and holding Sms-Dpad-Down.png Down. When you're attached to the Wonder Boy III The Dragon's Trap - Mouse Block.png Mouse Blocks, you will notice that the Mouse-Man's feet are moving even when he's immobile. Turn upside-down at the extremity of the block line, then go right while you're attached to the ceiling. You will see a little passage on the right. Enter the door and take the contents of the chest. If you have enough Charisma Points, you may enter the shop to buy the Dancing Shield (430 gold). If not, you will come back to it later. Enter the third door and open the "Return" door which leads directly to the town.
