Namco's Japan-only 1995 three-dimensional shooter arcade game Xevious 3D/G (which is the fourth title in their Xevious series) is divided into seven areas. As in the three previous games, one player can play alone as the blue-lined Solvalou, but for the first time a second player can also join in as a red-lined version of the Solvalou. They must still avoid contact with every air-based enemy and every shot that is fired at them by both the air- and ground-based enemies, and can collect three different types of powerups to strengthen their fire and bomb power by dropping bombs on the "Powerup Capsules" that appear throughout the game; the blue ones will allow them to fire normal shots at the enemies in three (then four) directions instead of just two, the red ones will allow them to fire rays that will automatically home in on the enemies (but take longer to defeat them), and the green ones will allow them to fire longer, more powerful shots at the enemies instead of their normal shots. Their effects will last until you die as a result of being hit by an air-based enemy or an enemy shot.
