The fifth stage is arranged like the kanji 呪, which represents a spell or a curse. As a result, it is separated into two different sections which can only be accessed via wells. There is no bonus section for this final stage.
- Talisman 1
- From the start, head to the left two screens. Watch out for the demon lady who can extend her neck very high, and climb down the ladder below the well. Drop down two screens. Make a note of the screen you arrive at with the two green blocks. The floor here contains holes and if you fall through them before you have all five talisman, you will die and be forced to continue. Make sure you stick to the high platforms or jump on top of the green blocks except for on the very sides of the screen. Go one screen to the right, and climb down to the well below the platform. Drop down the well, and you will arrive at the room with the first talisman. Shoot the fire spirits for more battery power.
- Talisman 2
- After collecting the talisman, drop back down the well. There will be two fire wheel enemies in this room. Drop down through the rooms below until you reach the bottom, which is another room with green blocks and holes in the floor. Walk to the left, shoot the lantern, and proceed left. You will need to continue walking all the way to the left until you actually wrap around to the right side of the map. When you do, you will want to drop down the well that you find in this right-most room. It will lead you to a room that looks identical to the room you found the first talisman in. Collect the second talisman here.
- Talisman 3
- From the second talisman, drop down the well, climb down the ladder, and fall all the way back down to the bottom level. Carefully jump over the floor in this room, and proceed right until you are back on the left-most side of the map again. You can drop down this well, and then immediately drop down the well again, and you will find yourself on the left portion of this stage. Jump up to the platforms, and remove the two fire wheel enemies. Be careful if you attempt to collect the Onigiri from the top platform, there is an invisible gap in the floor in front of the open door. Leap over it to collect it, then head to the left. Go one more screen to the left, and you will arrive at the room with the third talisman.
- Talisman 4
- After collecting the third talisman, Climb down the ladder to the screen below. Watch out for the fire wheel enemy, and reach the ladder at the bottom to continue climbing down. You will see the talisman on the right side of the screen. The trick to reach it is not to jump for it, but rather to fall down to it from the platform above.
- Talisman 5
- Once you collect the fourth talisman, fall down the left side of the screen until you reach the bottom. Then go one screen to the right. Shoot the lantern, and then drop down the well. Continue to do this until you return to the room with the two fire wheels. Then drop down through the gap in the floor to the screen below. Carefully drop down to the next screen so that you don't freely fall through it, but rather land on a platform high above. You will see the talisman on the lower right platform. Drop down to the platform above it from one of the higher platforms and climb down to collect the talisman. Then climb back up the ladder and hop over to the platform which holds the Onigiri.
- Boss lair
- At this point, once you have all five talisman, you can safely fall through the invisible holes in the floor of any room with the two green boxes to access the boss' lair.
Boss[edit]
After flipping the disk twice, you'll be presented with the boss of the fifth stage, which appears to be a hunched over demon wizard. It spits little bolts of electricity at you at a fairly rapid rate. Despite being the fifth boss, the strategy to use against it is the same as that of stage two and three, rapidly alternating between jump and fire to shoot a very low height off the ground, just high enough to damage the boss. When you defeat this boss, however, the fight isn't over.
After defeating the boss of the fifth stage, you must fight one more boss to complete the entire game. This boss resembles a three headed Buddha statue. After having some life zapped into him, the statue will proceed to fire hands at you. You can, of course, shoot these hands down with your own weapon. The weak point of the boss is just below the lips, right around the chin. Jump up high enough to fire some shots off and hit him. After you shoot him enough times in the chin, he will freeze up and return to being a regular statue and your girlfriend will be rescued. Congratulations.
