Combat[edit]

Attack Types[edit]

Each party member has one of three attack types: slash, strike, or pierce. Enemies may have a weakness to one of the types. Effective attacks are shown with yellow numbers and ineffective attacks are shown with blue numbers. In general, slash attacks are effective against soft enemies, strike attacks are effective against hard enemies, and pierce attacks are effective against nimble and flying enemies.

Skills[edit]

Party members may learn skills when they attack strong enemies. Up to four skills can be equipped and they map to L2 button and a face button. Skills require SP and gain EXP when used. They can be leveled up to a maximum of 3.

EXTRA skills are powerful attacks that can be unleashed by pressing Triangle button when the EXTRA gauge is full. The EXTRA gauge is a yellow circle that fills up over time and when skills are used.

Attack Bonuses[edit]

Aerial Combo
Attack airborne enemy. Damage is increased and obtain gold, SP, and life energy.
Skill Finish

Excellent Kill
Defeat an enemy using attack type it's weak against. Drops more gold and may drop rare items.

Advanced Controls[edit]

Flash Guard
Guard just as an enemy attacks. Damage is nullified, SP and EXTRA gauges increase, and all attacks are critical for a short time.
Flash Move
Evade just as an enemy attacks. Invincible for a short time and enemies will move in slow motion.

Dropped Items[edit]

Enemies may drop the following when defeated. If they leave behind a corpse, it can be attacked to drop more items.

Gold
Drops in different values.
Life Energy
Small or large green orb that recovers a small amount of HP.
Materials
Used for reinforcing, refining, and exchanging.

Status Effects[edit]

Status Duration Effect
Poison Long HP slowly decreases.
Paralysis Long Occasionally halts movement.
Heavy Medium Movement speed is decreased.
Burning Short HP rapidly decreases.
Freezing Short Unable to move.
Misfortune Long Drop gold upon taking damage.
Curse Long Enemy attacks are always critical.

Party[edit]

Up to three characters can be active in the party and they can be swapped out in the camp menu. Reserve characters will still earn EXP. You can switch the playable character by pressing L1 button or R1 button. The party AI can be changed to focus on attacking (Left rstick) or evading (Right rstick). The AI controlled party members will automatically harvest and pick up dropped items.

Once there are three characters in the party, party abilities become active. There are two based on the attack types.

Rare Item Drop Rate Up
One of each attack type. Enemies may drop more rare items.
Increased Damaged
Two with the same attack type. Party members deal increased damage.

Unique Actions[edit]

Each party member has a unique action that can be used when encountering a target circle on certain objects or locations. If the target circle is red, then you need to switch characters. Once you have the right character, press Triangle button to perform the action and an event will occur.

Monuments[edit]

Stone monuments will activate when touched and are shown on the map. They restore all HP and cure any status effects. After a game over, you can retry at the last monument you touched or the last town or camp you visited.

Harvest Locations[edit]

Harvest locations are found throughout Celceta and can be attacked to drop materials. They regenerate after some time has elapsed. Once discovered, they are shown with an icon on the map.

Resting[edit]

When standing still in outside areas, party members will put away their weapons and slowly recover HP. The Spirit Cape artifact can be equipped to increase the healing rate and recover in indoor areas.
