Apple II[edit]

Developed and published by Datasoft in 1983.

Atari 2600[edit]

Screen
Box

Developed and published by Coleco in 1982. Does not employ an isometric view at all. Instead, the gameplay is presented from an "over-the-shoulder" view behind the ship.

Atari 5200[edit]

Screen
Box

Developed and published by Sega in 1984. Identical to the Atari 8-bit computer version.

Atari 400/800/XL/XE[edit]

Most likely developed in-house by Sega. Published on cartridge by Sega, and on floppy disk and cassette tape by Datasoft in 1983.

Two notable gameplay differences in this version: In the outer space dogfight section, the ship is forced to a specific altitude, simplifying that section. Zaxxon itself approaches more quickly than other versions.

ColecoVision[edit]

Screen
Box

Developed and published by Coleco in 1982. The only accurate version developed by Coleco (The Atari 2600 and Intellivision conversions differ dramatically from the arcade in their presentation).

Commodore 64[edit]

Two different versions were developed for the Commodore 64. Both were released in 1984. The Synapse version's gameplay is considered far more fun and accurate to the arcade by players, despite the Sega version's faithfulness in graphical appearance.

Intellivision[edit]

Developed and published by Coleco in 1983. Like the Atari 2600 version, the gameplay is presented from an "over-the-shoulder" view behind the ship.
