The game designers put in some secrets throughout the game, which can be accessed by either shooting in certain areas or inputting codes into the computer consoles. As well as intentional secrets, there are also a few glitches.
Secrets[edit]
At certain rooms within the Norsa base, you can input either the suicide code: 
or the base explosion code: 
to see a special note from the designers. Some of these are just for fun, and some will give you information on other secrets of the game.

Along with console codes, there are non-computer related secrets as well, which can open up new passages or activate hidden items.
- Passageways
- Row 2, room 2: Shoot into the left wall while standing on the elevator at the bottom of the shaft.
- Row 16, room 2: Shoot into the right wall while lying on the elevator at the bottom of the shaft.
- Power-ups
- Row 1, room 1: Shoot left wall while lying down.
- Row 6, room 1: Shoot right wall at the bottom of the elevator while lying down.
- Level-up
- Row 1, room 6: Shoot the right wall behind the power-up canister eight times.
Invincibility[edit]
The biggest glitch in the game is also the biggest cheat, as it gives you invincibility. In row 3, room 3 you can activate invincibility using the elevator that goes down into the room below. Stand on the elevator and move over slightly so you are in the laser barrier, losing health. Just before your health gets to zero, press 
to lower the elevator, and JJ will go into his death animation and drop down through the top platform, to the middle one in the room below.
From that point on, JJ will be invincible, but you no longer have access to the menu screen, so you can't check on how many ID cards or floppy disks you have, or select another character. When you rescue one of your teammates, you will be shown the menu screen, and at that point you can select a different character if you choose. Gameplay is normal in this mode, except that you run through Norsa drones, mines and laser barriers. You still activate security sensors, and the mines don't explode when you run through them. You can also continue to collect level-ups, Zillion upgrades and power-ups.
Another method to gain invincibility[edit]
This glitch will work in any room that has a guard that paces in front of a computer console. The guard is needed for the glitch to work. The trick is to enter the computer console while overlapping the guard. You may get shot a few times attempting this. Once the guard is between you and the console and you've entered the menu, input the suicide code (0000). The zap that normally kills you will hit you the guard instead (it won't kill him). Now you're invincible. As with the other invincibility cheat, the pause button will not work, so you cannot switch characters.
